I'm still new to the game and want to take advantage of the spooky sales. Looking for recommendations on which hero assault mechs are worth looking into, or which to avoid. I know a lot comes down to preference and playstyle, but a little guidance never hurts. Thanks!

all depends on what you want in an Assault really
both the Atlas Heroes a good
Battlemaster-Hellslinger can be surprisingly good with snubs and MRMs
Cyclops-Slaphnir is always a good pick
King Crab Kaiju is good if wide as a barn door.
can't say anything about the Clan mechs since i don't really play them but those listed so far should do you well (might actually use the sale to pick up the Kaiju myself)

How about we narrow down what you're looking for? Clan/IS, sniper/brawler/etc, energy/ballistic/missile?
And are you looking for a gimmick build? For example, I love my old Heavy Metal but I rarely use it anymore... busting it out only for those odd event queue matches that give unlimited jump jet fuel... where it becomes an orbital particle beam platform that never actually lands. It's hilarious.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up picking up a few heroes and a bunch of other random quirky things for c-bills.

The IS Orion chassis can now be considered a mini-Atlas mech in its own right
