On the opposing team: 12 professional assassin murderhobos looking to destroy your day, your family, and your dog too.

On your team: You, 3 tomato cans, a blind duck, 2 afkers, and six sentient potatoes.


(I know they can't fix it, but this is just hilarious at times)

My favorite are getting 3x lrm ams only assults, 2x snipers, 1x brawler, 5x lazor barfers and me the only light because I'm the only one ballsy enough to use one.

I had 2 lose stomps 1-12 1-12 yesterday
both were the same: team just walking somewhere and dont shoot, debating and arguing what should be done

I just returned so it was refreshing

So first antistomp medicine - stay on start place and shoot all

I blame newbies without big balls that lack the **** to shoot back but then again i'm with team waterboy that need my greatness to even ensure any kills at all or the game would always end in 0-12. I'm too bad for most of these idiots they should thank me for not using meta mechs and giving them any chance in hell of playing against me with a sliver of hope in winning. Bask before my greatness and cower in fear of my mighty lights.

The other day me and 2 others in my lance are slogging along together in formation. All 3 of us are assaults.

Enemies in front of us, 3 to be exact. Not assaults.

I engage, expecting my lancemates to also engage.

Long story short. I get destroyed, while I see on my radar that the my 2 other assault lance mates are running with their tails tucked between their legs. They didn't even fire a shot from what I could tell. Btw they were a Madcat deathstrike and a Bloodasp of some sort. I was in a Maurader IIC Scorch.

Rofflestomps are common right now because something got changed in the mm and groups are getting priority drops so as a solo player you are going to find yourself facing a lot of premades.

it be like that sometimes. hell i had match today (Assault, Scrapyard) where the entire team took the long way around the rotation and then just stopped and hid behind one rock. the guy the only thing holding the whole team up was a single Warhammer IIC. it ended up in a race to cap our 1 guy that was on their base tried to call for someone on the team to go hit the guys on our cap but no one wanted to move. i was playing my 2 LRM-15, 4 ER SL Hunchie and was doing what i could. other than me, the guy on the enemy base, and the one Atlas that finally went to our base no one did more than 100 damage. (i think i ended with 340 something dmg and one kill. enemy won my cap with the score 2 or 3-9 or something like that. (the Atlas got a kill as well)

sometimes you just get ****** matches like that.

i haven't seen anything about them having done any MM changes but i wouldn't put it past PGI giving groups priority right now since the whole comp thing is going on.

I actually think the matchmaker is working better than early summer for some reason; it seemed just unbearably bad back then.

My bigger issues with QP are things like a team with 8 assaults being dropping onto a large map in conquest mode....and timid gameplay. OMG the timid gameplay makes my brain hurt....so many people trying to hide their way to victory...but just actually assuring their team of defeat.

Not sure the matchmaker can fix that...maybe some better tutorials early on in-game? Something showing how an entire assault lance camped out at the out-of-bounds boundary, doing nothing but sit-and-snipe is a great waste of tonnage and just a slow, lazy way to die.

Exactly this. If you're not running with people you know and can work with 95% of the time at the sight of a single blue laser assaults turn and run. I don't get it. Today was a masterclass in 'how to screw your team' because all but one possibly two of the teams assaults (usually at least 5 in a drop these days) along with plenty of heavies post up somewhere, bust out the camp fire and DON'T MOVE to react to any sort of call.

Enemy team does an 8 man flank while 4 are trading to distract... nah fam, they're working on trading with those four rather than backing up the single lance trying to fend off the steamroller and they competely ignore comms and calls. Meanwhile the opposing team that somehow managed to get like 8 comp muderhobo assassins in a single drop dances on your corpse.

This mainly effect tier 1 solo drops and to a lesser extent tier 2 because they are the smallest percentage of the server pop. There is more than enough pop at the lower tiers to get reasonably fast mm. Tier 1 solo drops are taking aaaggggeeessss...

I had a match the other day where my team was half lights and the rest were mediums and heavies. We had NO assaults. The other team was half assaults. We put up a fight, but still lost. We had a 4 man group of people that were all in Spiders. They spent the entire match jumping high into the air and taking shots. I was in a little Kitfox srm build. The spiders kept landing in front of their team mates and would often get shot because of it. I know one of them got hit with 12 srms in the back from me.

I think if the post-match screen showed how much armor each team had left, the stomp complaints would be reduced dramatically. Right now the only way you can tell how your team performs is kills; its not a complete, or even reliable metric.

Rofflestomps are mainly due to snowballing. When both teams are reasonably competent then when one side makes a small mistake and loses a couple of key mechs early on then the outcome is typically quite predictable. Not to say there are not games where a team makes a comeback but those are rare. When running new alts up the tiers I notice that rofflestomps are far far more common once you break into tier 3 and beyond. Tier 4 and 5 usually have more close games because even if one side loses some mechs the other side doesn't have the skill or situational awareness to capitalize on it.
