seeing as they released a free Stalker-7D i would like to know what folks are doing with theirs. i have seen a LOT of laser vomit builds but is anyone doing anything else with it?

i tried a couple of various all energy builds (first trying differing PPC and then some laser vomit) but none seemed to really work well for me in testing. they all ran way to hot for my taste. in the end i settled on using the Missile hardpoints for some MRMs paired with ER MLs.

here is the build i am using....

STK-7D (2 MRM-30s (4t ammo), 5 ER MLs, 1 AMS (1/2t ammo), running an LE-345 with 7 DHS, and endo)

build code...

A5=820Q1|i^|i^|i^|F@|F@|_gpm0|i^|f?|i^|aO|F@qm0|i^|F@|i^rh0|Z@sh0|Z@ta0|GP|GPua0|GP|GPvB0|F@w;0;0;0

it still runs a bit hot and i am thinking of switching to standard MLs instead of the ERs for bit cooler running. only played one match in it so far but it did pretty well considering the situation i ended up in. will likely get on this weekend or something and try some more with it.

Oh, please link the code in GrimMechs or something - Like This.

In any case, it's not a bad build; just use the lasers if you're firing at a moving target, and just use the MRMs when you're running hot. It's a bit of a poke-and-cool build, but that's ok; be patient and try to trade as well and rapidly as possible.

Alternatively, you could be using Even More of those energy hardpoints. >]

Just, uh... don't fire all the LPPCs at once.

nope i refuse to use an outside site just to post a build. if PGI would just let me post a screenshot on the forum without jumping through hoops i would do that. until then folks will just have to deal with it (thats why i post the basic equipment alongside the build code.)

You mean you prefer to launch MWO, wait for it to load, enter the mechlab and copy/paste the code, than simply click a link? Good for you I guess.

usually wheni i am on the forum i am in game already. or with my memory issues i have to boot up the game anyway to make sure i am putting down the right build. even using the outside site you have to jump through hoops to get it to post so why bother.

Stalker STK-7D is a beast, with cockpit level weapons (ie: what you see is what you hit).
STK-7D is usually equipped with laser vomit, or now with...cough...Binary Lasers...

Grimmechs has STK-7D in the "best" level builds: 3xLPL + 6xERML + LE350

I won't do this courtesy to the people I'm asking for help and advice because I want the forums to work differently.

Gotcha.

honestly i have been on a TON of forums over the years and this is the only one i have ever encountered that doesn't let you post screen shots (or images in general) with a simple single click.

not really looking for to much the way of help really was just curious what others were doing with the free mech and how it was working for them is all.

Max pew.

stk-7d

With full heat related skill nodes its sheds heat fast for typical poke and trade play and with a couple of coolshots you can sustain long enough to core near any mech you catch out.
