Wanted to toss this in here so it gets some visibility.

These are teasers released and shared yesterday in multiple areas. Figured I would share them here.

I want to go on to say thanks Krazz for letting the world know a little early what this all looks like and thank you for sharing it in multiple areas instead of just pigeon holing it. Giving multiple people opportunities to see it.

I seriously look forward to future releases, tweaks, and leaks. Keep em coming man!

It seems that the map will be good for stepping out of the cover, unloading some big laser or ballistic alpha strike and a two seconds later backpedaling behind the building.

I can imagine that some LRM, ATM and Streak SRM players will have some difficulties with acquiring missile locks in such situations. Also, some cover seems to be quite tall, so it should protect against LRMs anyway, even should some Lurmer get a lock.

Maybe the final version of the maps will be different.

The map is going to be in the upcoming patch this month on the 21st. Next Tuesday.

Do note the summoners in the videos for scale in regards to size of stuff.

Its a large map.

This is definitely going to be an interesting map. I have heard that the environmental polishing is still being done so this is definitely not the final form. Kinda excited to see this one personally.

looks like they borrowed some of the geometry from the previous attempt to redux terra therma.

but really another ice map. dont you think you overuse that texture set a wee bit too much? make it a jungle map.

A map thats not a sniper shooting gallery would be nice. Thats exactly what this map looks like.
Block cover for stepping in an out. Check. Portholes and high ramps for sniping. Check.
Low ceiling so its almost impossible to use LRMs or ATMs. Check. This map is a snipers wet dream.

Still tuning to make sure LMRs can't be used with that nice low ceiling.

Can't let those "Top Tier" players get beat by someone with LRMs.

They said in the past regarding mapmaking they have to use existing mapcontent rearranged/reappeard to make new maps as they have no one Dev appointed for creating new content for MWO maps.

Maybe at times they can borrow some one to help them but better ease your expectations so you can enjoy the maps in the limits they have to work with.

Hills provide cover perfectly. And talking about missiles, they hide mechs from LOS, but force snipers to expose 2-3 sec to shoot at target and allow a chance to counterattack for every weapon loadout. For example, original Polar, a map perfectly valid for every playstyle.

(Lots of) walls, buildings, or terrain with excessive height and slopes (everywhere in every map, original and reworked), giant metal mushrooms or low ceilings are BARRIERS, and their reccent scalation has been specifically designed to suppress a particular playstyle and to promote another one.

All we have now in this game are cities, mazes and other kinds of pew pew arenas.

Some mechs are suited to side peeking from behind buildings and some mechs are suited to ridge humping.

You wont get 2-3s to shoot back at a ridge humping SunSpider, for example, because it only needs to expose the top 5-10% of the mech to fire all its guns.

The low ceilings are telling. More barriers to already unusable weapon systems.

Will have to see how it plays before making any kind of judgement on it.

Could be a good brawl map, or might be poptart heaven.. Will have to wait and see.

I'd still like the ability for players to design maps. Sure, most of 'em would suck, but there sure would be some variety. Posted Image
