hell yes any Battletech Film/show should talk to Sabaton about doing the soundtrack.

as for storyline i would prefer they just keep it simple, follow a single Mech unit (this way they could even create their own if they want as that is sort of the foundation of the series in all its iterations) through some conflict or another.

Battletech lore is taken from Gundam original lore before being butchered by the toy companies

Solaris 7 and the clans is taken from Fang of the sun/ Griffin.

Some may say that there's some macross in battletech, phoenix hawk.

And Votoms / Atlas.

The thing is that battletech been copying others works and got in dispute with George Lucas as the original title was battledroids. Then George Lucas is himself copycat. Where do you think he got his own inspiration from.

Assault class hasn't been around forever and there are even some D&D session inside battletech.
Today nobody uses the old rules that you are in cover no matter in what direction you standing as tabletop has become videogames. Yes even battletech uses cover system but it is instead height of cover and strangely enough D&D uses it as well but they don't do the direction part, you are in cover if you stand in cover. So that is the true reason behind how battletech works. It's D&D + Gundam + Fang of the sun.

And that is the real issue how much can you copy until you claim someone elses work.
That is why the new designs we see in mwo has changed battletech. Gargoyle is the old Atlas design.
I find it interesting how the new designs are closer to Gundam than the previous and that battletech keep going into a fusion. Same concept who made Gundam scrap the android robots into pilot driven. The early episodes had the pilot sitting inside a bunker controlling the Gundam 1 km away.

Why do you think the mechs in mwo are painted green. They're zeon in Gundam. But then who are they copy? Battlestar galactica.

Battletech was going for this as well with battledroids.
