Ran into the new Jenner loyalty mech tonight.
Jenner A JR7-A(L)

Been a while since I've seen IS Jenners on the battlefield. I used to love them back in 2013-2014.

The new one has some interesting quirks.
  • -50% Cooldown
  • -49.9 Laser Cooldown
  • +20% Laser Duration

Basically, this thing can fire a Large Laser without pausing.

I ran into both LPL and BLC versions.

The Binary just about melted my face off at 500 m. I was not expecting it.

But the good news is that it's still a Jenner, with that huge CT.

its not really a mech suited to starewarrior. i think of all laser options i think i like the lpl best. the binlas is too hot. its still weak compared to the 14 hmg adder.

The LPL recharge sound lagging and layering over itself though dear god…

lpl has more dps during the burn than binary when you take skill tree in to account with the negative burn quirk it has. Difference is minimal like 14dps vs. 13.8

its marginal but when you consider you can use a bigger engine, more heat sinks, and fire for longer the lpl comes out on top.

Bottom line: Be careful about getting into a staring contest with one of these things.

Yeah, that Adder is really something if in the right circumstances. I've tried it with HMGs and a SPL, brutal at close range but you are squishy. I've also run it with LMG's and an ERML and that's pretty good too.

Good hunting,

This seems like it would be a better HPPC mech than a laser mech. The problem with that is the CDA3C which was already the "stupid mech trick, rapid fire PPCs" mech is now pretty redundant.

Jenner will do it with JJs and MGs be damned, who needs them. If the E mount were CT instead of an ST this would be a different story.

Both Baradul and TTB have released videos on this mech.

Defiantly not Over Powered.

It's a Jenner. OP was never in the cards. Even Oxide pales compared to a number of other Light options, it's likely the strongest Jenner. There's one pilot I see who religiously plays the Jenner-F and is ******* GOOD. He's not the norm and he's likely been playing that thing forever.

after running it last night for maybe 12-13 games, at least 3 of them were 500+ ms games with one north of 600. it can do work. using lpl.

i figure it takes clever use of angles, shoot'n'scoot and beam-offset compensated poptarting. woe to anyone you manage to get behind because it can drill out a rct in no time. just dont get caught staring.

It was a loyalty mech from last year. Its mundane cbill version will be available at some point in the future.

Around April-June if previous years are an indication.

The most efficient use I've seen so far from the gud streamers is a run n gun strat. Constantly be on the move and shoot anything in range even if its just a fast sweep. You don't do much pinpoint but it adds up and as you said if you can get in some rear shots or shots at distracted mechs you can pile on the damage fast.

Will be interesting to see how clans use their version come the weapons patch.

this was totally the prototype for that. except the clan version can be boated. how much is the question. patch day cant come soon enough.

The free Jenner we got last month is great, 4xSL and 2xSNPPC with a JJ or two make it a formidable short range poker, and still have enough fire power and heat management to effectively deal with most fellow lights in a circle of death.
