With some luck this is a matter of one game. You can use either guided or unguided missiles or both.

Reward isn't even worth it. same with the other two weapon challenges.

I think you totally misunderstand my complaint... I can do it easy but if Cauldron hates missiles so much why even have an event for it?

Maybe because of this:

• Completed missile challenge gives a player 100 Air Strikes that would cost him 4 000 000 C-Bills. For many new players this can be really helpful. Great reward just for one or two games.
  
• Completed ballistic weapons challenge gives a player 100 Artillery Strikes that would cost him 4 000 000 C-Bills. Also a nice reward for a new player that can be completed in the course of one or two games.
  
• Completed energy weapons challenge gives a player 100 Cool Shots that would cost him 4 000 000 C-Bills. Also a nice reward for a new player, especially since many new players struggle with the heat management of their 'Mechs.

If you do not like those rewards, then ignore the event and play as you normally would.

And if it happens that you complete the stipulations of the challenge by some accident, then simply do not claim those rewards that are "not even worth it". Simple.

The makeup event is generous and not arduous.

I ran through it quite fast, and the missile damage and energy damage portions I did in 20 ton lights - the energy damage in a single match and the missile damage taking two matches....

See, when they consolidated item numbers to solve the database loading issue, they decided to consolidate the number 1 and 2 to mean the same thing. Just more efficient.
