I would like to try the faction zone wars, i am not in a clan tho and no idea how it works, i play all day but, could use a clan to be dedicated to for those PvP maps. seems like it would be fun.

Visit this section: Faction Play

Check this thread: Faction Play Guide

You should own four (preferably) heavy or assault class 'Mechs, all of them fully skilled up and with effective loadouts.

Make sure U don't lose in mechlab. With reinforcements u want to make sure not to reinforce but die in waves. U absolutely need an extreme long range deck. The quirked range, full range skill tree, TC. If in doubt the map is extreme range. Leave lrms at home (especially at attack) and U should be fine.

Drop a few matches and expect nothing then to be trashed hard the first 20 out of 20 matches. U need this time to get used to the basics. No mm in FP so don't be surprised if u get killed in one to two trades. Keep a look at the players / groups u end up with in matches. Don't try outside of EU or na prime time.

So what if i roll a flea in there, LOL the big mechs are just not my style, to big to slow. I do expect to get trashed But I rather at least try and tag and run than sit and die lol

Normally U want to drop heavy to light. Especially in siege u need to attack / defend choke points. Lights simply don't have the required alpha and dps for this.

On of the first things U need to improve over QP is how to trade properly.

Because that is not how FP drop decks work. You have a tonnage budget to work with, and it's in your own best interest to maximize the offensive potential you get out of it - as well as to maximize the time through which this offensive potential will last.

Also, you can't fill a deck with just four Fleas because there's a minimum tonnage cap too. Posted Image

It's worth mentioning as well that everyone will benefit from driving multiple weight classes, regardless of preferred style. Driving an Assault, for example, will teach you how Assaults tend to move and fight - which will help you fight and kill them with lighter chassis.

The Minimum tonnage limit is 160 tons for all your four 'Mechs combined. So you can not drop in four Fleas.

Usually I start in an assault 'Mech (sometimes in a heavy 'Mech), continue in heavies and the last 'Mech is a heavy or a medium 'Mech (depending on the exact drop deck). Dropping in four light 'Mechs is impossible.

If you want something agile and punchy, nothing stops you from taking a pair of Assassins in your drop deck. That's 2x40=80 tons , so you still have 180 to fill if I remember the IS tonnage limit correctly. That can be a pair of Assault mechs or an Assault and a Heavy.

Generally you want to frontload your drop decks with the heavy stuff first because enemies are usually more coordinated in FP and light or medium mechs dropped in too early will just evaporate in a puff of magic smoke.

You could do two fleas and two heavies/assaults. And as stated above, you'd want to start with one of the bigger mechs for the intial push. Until the gates are open, there's not much running around for a flea to do.
