Ecm / Bap Question

Before I stopped playing, running both ECM and BAP (or CAP) on a 'Mech had a buggy interaction that made them cancel each other out. I believe this was eventually patched so both worked, but then there was a new bug where running both would kneecap the range of the active probe.
Is this still the case, or has all that been resolved?

If you equip both the Guardian Electronic Countermeasures suite and Beagle Active Probe, you boost your sensor range to 1000 metres, if this is what you are asking.
The same is true for the combination of the Clan Electronic Countermeasures suite and Clan Active Probe.

and I think this is no longer the case for quite a while and nowadays you get the full advantages of both.
otoh I don't actively play anymore/a lot and when I do, I don't look out for things like that, so ..

I think it's been solved, but others will probably be more informed

Equipping both ECM + BAP on your mech, prevents you from choosing "Counter" ECM mode (ie: disrupt one single enemy's ECM to make it visible on the radar). But equipping both ECM + BAP still protects your mech via your ECM.
By the way, while you've been away:
1) A few mechs have "Enhanced ECM" which is -10% Target Range Reduction.
AS7-D-DC, AS7-K3

2) ECM protective bubble is now only 90m, down from 120m.

You should be able to equip ECM and leave it on disrupt with a BAP equipped and the BAP will keep the longer range to counter. At least this is my understanding of this.
Side note. ECM does nothing for your own sensors as stated earlier. It reduces an enemies sensor range while causing a disruption of an enemies sensors in close range. It does not extend your own sensors. BAP however does extend your own sensor range.

That's what I was remembering.

Thank you, it's good to be stomping around again. Are you 100% on BAP preventing you from using the ECM counter mode? Dropping in to the testing grounds with both on a 'Mech I'm still able to change modes.

they both have their uses even together but they do two different things

Is anyone willing to help me test, to get real data on what is happening?

note: the wiki hasn't been updated yet to reflect the most recent changes to ECM range (Dec Patch)
