Yeah, I find it truly astonishing that people are willing to jump up and down and scream over it being hard to get a color that they’ve given out several times in the past couple years and an extra coffee mug.

Do you just have to hit them in the head, or do you need to land a killing blow headshot?

You need to kill someone with it but it can be only finishing blow if someone has already bonked them.

Dont forget that head doesnt always mean head, you need to hit the specific part where the pilot is sitting. Good luck !

My words of wisdom is do some research. Check the hitbox threads, then take something with a handful of medium pulse lasers or similar hitscan weapons that don't do massive damage, and practice in the training grounds. Find the cockpit on everything, then move to a different map with different mechs.

When it comes time for real games- you need ~40 pinpoint alpha. Few mechs run +40 health on cockpit. 3x heavy ppc, dual HG, HG+2 snubs, dual gauss + ppc, quad AC10, there's options. Then just aim at cockpits. Don't dwell on the shot too long because it makes you vulnerable too.

The other element that helped me is 32in 4k screen. Classic mechdad eyes work better with big screens.

You must actually kill him with your head shot crushing the enemy cockpit to qualify for the Angelic Yellow colour and the MWO Mug cockpit item..

You need just one headshot, not fifty.



Check the screen capture to see that it is doable.

You still have more than two weeks to headcap some enemy 'Mech.

It is FRUSTRATING.

After the last two months I don't need more ******* frustration. I hope someone puts an angry badger in the bed of whoever put that in there. I ******* nearly had one with a Catapult on Vitric and then some KIND SOUL just CTs the damn Catapult while I'm charging the DHG. Legged and shutdown and SOME ******* LOVELY CHAP just had to have that kill. *******. HELL.
