It's like asking how to activate speed twerkz, how to eject, plz hold locks for LRMS, etc. No one is asking them seriously.
I think. I worry about some of the hold locks ones, but I'm pretty sure they're joking...
I am pretty sure that many seriously expect me to get killed holding locks for them, while they are farming damage from behind the hill.

To some extent.... but the over-abundance of extraordinary incompetence makes many matches a waste of time. Maybe they're incentivised to just smash through as many matches as they can? I don't understand what they're trying to achieve.
Arguably, there's lots of combat at reasonable ranges now... which I guess is better than click-to-win at half-a-mile. There's precious little agency though.
Do not worry, this will be over in a week.

There's another thread wondering about the newfound popularity of LRM's. The answer seems pretty clear to me; I suspect at lower levels (it's difficult to tell while I'm in tier 3, sometimes higher tier players are just as suicidal as others) there are always people, often in assault mechs just wandering around in the rain. Even just last match I watched as a big, shiny platinum Atlas walked up a ramp from cover, alone, to face tank what must have been three or four LRM carriers (not necessarily boats) at range. In just about every match there are people just walking through long range fire and storms of LRM's as if there's no possible alternative.
In balance to that of course, players who quite clearly should make use of their range advantage, waddle into the mess, so I guess it all balances out?
These are just people unwilling to learn, so they keep repeating the same mistake(s) over and over again, game after game, year after year. They know what killed them or what caused their team's defeat, and they do it again in their next game.
Bonus points if they have the Founder's badge, which mean that they have had literally a decade to learn the game ... and failed.
