did you notice the new commando is engine capped
it makes it a slow hunk of junk
I lost almost a 1/4 of my T4 in my effort to skill this mech up

If thats your standard then the christmas commando is sub optimal with any fit. There are plenty of mechs that do the small/medium laser mix waaaaay better.
In a general sense, sure. Not as zombies, though; the zombie fits specifically are the D03's selling point. Doesn't need to be lasers -- you can fit dual LPPCs without giving up the STD engine by armour shaving or going very slightly slower.
The zombie stuff is the 'mech's standout feature. Anything else it can do that I can see is doable better on a different platform.

If you do com-d03h with 3xLight PPC and strip your head (headshotting fast light mechs is 1 of the thousands chance.).
You got more DPS
No minimum range
Bigger alpha
Faster engine
And you can fit that very important piece of equipment called MASC so you can be even more elusive target.
+ You should put heatsinks to legs if you can, no point losing extra heatsinks when sidetorso blows, your mech can still be viable at that point, if you lose a leg on light then you are most likely going to die within 10 seconds anyway and losing extra sinks doesn't really matter at that point.

Unsure if trolling or completely lacking self awareness.
It is perfectly fine for what it is.

These special gift mechs are supposed to be a little different/fresh to be fun to play. It is a really slow Commando (140 using MASC is way slow for a COM), but the zombie ability, extra energy hardpoints, and even getaway nitrous button MASC are odd enough to be fun to experiment with.
Next year it will be the AS7-T "Turret", maxed at standard 40 engine, no legs, all the extra tonnage is in head armor and structure with all its hardpoints there too, and 2xAMS slots in every torso.

And the fact that its slower than other Commandos is the reason I kitted mine with 5 ERML. A farther away commando is still hard to hit even if its moving a little slower. Works so far.

Get 50 matchscore before about 40 hours from now.
I managed to do this whilst camping in a remote area, 7 year old laptop, wifi bridged via my phone to an intermittent router connected to satellite internet, direct sunlight on the screen, and repeated corrupted game files because the laptop was overheating in the monsoonal heatwave.
I believe that you too can achieve the lofty target of 50 matchscore. You just need to believe in yourself.
