I were away through november and december because of rather bad reasons.
I heard that dec-patch would alter heat sinks...

So, how much the game got ruined? Were messing with the HSs bad or worse idea?
[redacted] I mean, if I heard well, the HS-alteration meant to counter las-boats mostly. [redacted]

So, if my 4xcER-PPC Executioner, 4xcER-PPC Rifleman IIc or 6xcER-PPC Supernova got broken then [redacted] None of these are high-alpha builds so there is no valid reason to broke them... But sanity and logic is scarce attribute within mankind...

+ Does the loyalty mechs has an expiration time? I would hardly able to enter the game 'till the weekend and those loyalty things I hope would not gone because anything...

...

And hope FP queues got shorter now. Really miss some FP!

Oh, NewGrounds sux, I think they would ban me. But they started being rude first, that's a firm fact...

Sit on a bench every dawn
Wait the very last sunrise,
Feel in your bones
The passing times.
Morsels once sweet and nice
Now sour, hard to chew
Wishes remained just
For a few sips of wine...
At the end of time
Slowly shadows arise,
Darkness cover the stars,
That is the course of all.

Not the best, still hope you won't mind...

lootbag events draw in all the sporadic players. just taking a few days off is enough to tank your skill vs those who play daily. i take a week or sometimes a month off and im usually pretty rusty coming back in. overall i think i had a fun time playing this year's holiday events. as for cauldron changes, nothing really changed the way i play too much. honestly i was too busy with the holidays to even read them.

you know what, i was wrong about the onyx. i got one for the mc so i could get another hero mech (it took 5 games due to double xp) and bonus lootbags. having that shield changes the way you play it significantly, and after several 400+ ms games in a row i found it to be a very fun mech to play. the december legendries were also pretty fun, especially the aksum. loyalties let you do the batlepass whenever, though bonus lootbag pulls are subject to expiration, i think they are up till tuesday. also if you get the spitfire you can do a couple of the longbow challenges without having the longbow pack, for a couple bonused items.

The clan DHS nerf has gone over just fine so far. Also, all these loadouts were already bad so I assume they are still bad.

ppfld - pin point front loaded damage.

While erppcs dont hit the insane damage alphas of hags + laser vom, ppcs are very strong due to ppfld. Doing any damage instantly to one component is the best kind damage [does not splash, cant be twisted, high velocity and range] so how should those be balanced? Also consider that clan weapons are usually a bit better than their IS counterparts. This is especially clear in any comp setting like the worlds tournament. So to try to generally balance the game, they are reducing the effectiveness of clan heat sinks. Your ppcs will still be strong, just cant fire them as often - meaning you have a harder time against close range systems.

You can still use erppcs to great effect, but wont be able to fire them as often....

Clan erppc are still too hot and too low dps and the heatsink changes amplified it. But my solution isn't to 'fix' erppc but to add in other ppc options even if they have to make them up from scratch. There isn't much to work with in clan lore for additional ppc(at least that would work in the current meta without becoming insta op) so if they are making up mechs from scratch might as well toss weapons into the mix too. Clan doesn't need much. Just an lppc type for the light and medium mechs and some type of lower heat lower range ppc for mid range stuff.

A loadout is bad in bad hands. In good hands any loadout could hurt you beyond imagination. And those builds pull the best match results in FP. PPCs are just most perfect weapons.

So, I guess UACs-boats also run hotter now. But I bet laser-boats still run funny and deal sh!tload of alphas. Mission well done! Really...

I am not just rusty. My hands jitter, spring there and back, often click double or triple on the mouse unintentionally. Still I want to return and play FP again. Best part of MWO.

No, that's not how that works at all. Loadouts with better efficiency, range, damage, etc will do better in those same good hands than ones with worse.

And those loadouts don't pull the best results in FP. Pure cERPPC boats aren't what they used to be. They are still solid on certain mechs that have the quirks for them, but generally are outclassed by cGauss+cERLL or even pure cERLL. It has been this way since the original cauldron weapon changes years ago.

The recent cDHS changes move things even further towards Gauss+ERLL builds due to them being less reliant on cooling.
