meh i have a hard time getting any kind of enthusiasm for Thunderbolts. being a locking weapon and knowing what i know i about how the cauldron balances such things they will likely be near useless. they have already proved that they hate anything that is a locking weapon system and repeatedly so with many being of the mind set that locking weapons need to be removed entirely from the game.

(for those that say LRMs were never an anti-sniper weapon then you haven't been playing long. there was a time they had a 1,000m stock range (or close to that) and enough speed to at least be useful. as they sit now lock times are so long that by the time you get a lock (if getting them on your own) you have likely lost half your mech. the only thing that makes them still viable is IDF)

of course i will wait and see. i might come back to the game long enough to give them a try but so far my joy for MWO has been nearly completely killed by the cauldron and simple boredom. hell i haven't played snce the x-mas day event and i didn't even complete the lootbag event because i wasn't all that interested in the rewards (same goes for the 2 free mechs but thats more a personal thing that i wont go into. free mechs are free mechs so always nice but meh). Thunderbolts might turn out to be good but i won't get my hopes up. better o expect the worse that way you aren't bummed when they suck *** but if they are good then you have a nice pleasant surprise

I feel a lot like you. I did the x-mas event day log in only for the mc. I have all the mechs I want fully mastered. With both pgi and caul-dumb's changes over time I have very little interest in mwo since both my preferred play styles of light mechs and lrm support have been effectively removed by changing every thing they relied on to be decent. I read the fourms a lot more than I bother to play the game.

With the heavy and blunt bias to assults and ever increasing power creeping ppfd with things like lbx-40 kdks,72 alpha heavies, triple digit kgcs, the wtf velocity and arc nerf to lrms this game just isn't worth my time and certainly not worth any of my money.

yea im not playing the game to just play the game anymore. pokemechs is almost complete and if there is not a lot of reasons to play, i didn't even turn out for eq. new weapons will bring me out no matter how op or lame they turn out.

You really should take a detour into light mechs. They enable you to completely disengage from the normal gameplay and just make it up as you go. Speed and new found light firepower can make for some very emergent games. Yeah sometimes you get vaporized by well aimed or simply random ppfld but overall you get the run of the battlefield. Psr will probably start to drop but in your case don't you want to lower your tier so you don't get rolled by sweaty premades so much? I think people would enjoy the game so much more if they abandon any pretense at advancing tiers and just play what brings a smile to their face.

This guy right here is having the time of his life in this game and do you really think he gives a whit about stats or the meta?

Once again, Meep's the smarted guy in the room.

Been playing mostly lights myself lately because they're mostly just chaos incarnate and a lot of fun. Sure the PSR drops but you still have fun. Mercifully, it gets you out of the sweat lord ranks eventually too!

Well, everyone have their favorite mech types to play with (Lights, Heavy, Assault, Medium).

I'm having lots of fun in my Assaults ;)

i run lots of light mechs, in fact they were the first class where i caught them all. and the reason i went all in on loyalty last year.

new light firepower will certainly make me dust off a few though. see you in march.

i can hold my own in t2 if i run meta, but i prefer to run mechs with <30 games logged.
