That said, I think that the game mode has a lot of merit, and could be brought back with a few modifications.
The Atlas should be replaced with the MFB from MW3, with command being granted to whoever takes Company Command using the Battle Grid. From there, they would have additional command options letting them direct the MFB's from waypoint to waypoint, navigating around areas where the enemy is concentrated in force. There should be some tradeoffs available to the team: do you all travel slowly in a group, with limited repair options? Do you leave your slow teammates behind, moving as quickly as possible, and risk being strung out if you encounter the enemy? The MFB should be able to repair about half the team and still make it to the evac. Repairing more than half the team should mean you can't make it, anymore. Give it some benefit so the players actually want to protect it, instead of just having to protect it, but otherwise feeling significant disdain for it, as has historically been the case.
As has always been the case: repair should be limited to ammo and armor, only. Internal damage shall remain as-is through every repair stop.

Really its not that bad as long as you don't get stuck on the escort team every game. (btw, except for the first game six times in a row. all I can say is wow.) The first game I was on the attack team and due to first time playing the game hung up and I dropped in 30 seconds after everyone else, just in time to see the win and hear the congratulations. WOW didn't have to do anything. Should have known it was all downhill from there. Well those of you that keep getting the attack or prevent side have fun. Those of you that get suckered into escort duty every game like me, well I'll be playing regular quick matches until the carnage is over.

I think that would make the biggest difference personally. There really is no reason to put the whole team in the South point and then spread the enemy across 2 drop locations. For the Escort team the spawn/respawn should be in the H11/H12 spawn point not the most southerly one. Could leave the VIP in that. No reason to start the team in concurrent spawn locations.
Also adjusting the VIP path...but I assume that's probably not doable for today's event queue. But something for the future if this mode is ever brought back.

Even if you go x4 light deck, it still the same problem - it is just too far to run.
