Sorry to tread on your dreams there, but the OG Red Reaper also had the southpaw melee loadout.
For what it's worth though, I share your opinion - shields belong in the left, especially with the way the MWO rotato potato rolls.

It will also lose tonnage and crits to the shield. The Onyx is a decent comparison to the Yen Lo Wang- and it is performing okay, but definitely worse. 1.03 to 1.1 winrate, and a similar disparity in other stats.
A slower and space limited Black Knight is unlikely to be a game changer, regardless of hard point inflation. It looks cool, but with no melee, you don't need to run in panic. A steady walk will probably do the job.

I would say it's going to be a long wait -
- I believe brand new mech chasses are built not for MWO but for MW5 and ported to MWO. Bluntly put, MWO is not the flagship, MW5 and MW5 Clans are. This allows PGI to work on their newest thing while double dipping into the same asset.
- MWO doesn't adhere to any timeline but MW5 is very close to faction and timeline specifics, therefore with the focus on MW5 Clans (the PC Gamer leak mentioned you play as Smoke Jag), I would say mechs available to the Jags, Combine, and potentially Comstar at or before 3052 are fair game to ask for new mechs

I have to wonder if the LXPL and RAC builds I've seen on the Onyx contribute to its relatively poorer performance. One can build whatever one wants, but frankly the shield won't work if one doesn't twist...

On the contrary it does:
RA; 2 Energy
LA: 2 Energy.
So, yes, it does add hardpoints. As for the Torsos, those remain the same as any other Dire Wolf as per all other variants, except for the Dire Wolf B.
?????, that technically isnt new, since we can already use 2 out of 4 energy from the prime arm.

Also, the shield is based on lore. It is on the right arm.

Yeah, I knew my 'fighting-left-handed' comment was merely rhetorical, 'cause:
if ya can't hold your shield to the front (like a Roman Legionary),
then it really doesn't matter where the shield is mounted!
... one merely rotates in the other direction first.
Of necessity, one learns to be ambidextrous.

This can't even be blamed on lore since in lore the Red Reaper only has 6 weapon hardpoints plus the sword and shield. Inflating it to 8 weapon hardpoints like BL-6-KNT and the BL-7-KNT-L would make sense. It still does have a shield, so going to 9 like the Partisan would be too much. Going to 11 AND the shield is ridiculous.

On one hand, I don't like the power creep and paid advantage aspects, but on the other hand I understand that the profits they provide is helping to keep this game that I love so much going after all these years. It is what it is.
Is 100% TRUE !!!
(LGD) mechs are basically for n00b players who have no idea what they are doing...

It's all about LURMing and ER LL/PPC battles most of the time...
I miss the days when it was more mixed up and brawling wasn't so deprecated !!!

Nothing against the Chinese and their holidays and traditions but it simply has no meaning or any kind of emotional worth to me
Politics and other similar crap is another issue which seriously needs to GTFO the gaming industry A.S.A.P. !!!

I can understand politics staying out of games, but this is almost as bad as the guy who complained about Christmas being shoved down his throat. I don't see how the Chinese New Year is political.

Every ******* year you get this **** cramped down your throat. And now I can't even play MW:o without being bothered with it.
Can we enjoy a single holiday without it being crapped on? What's next? Are we gonna have another guy complain about having a St. Patrick's Day Event and themed mechs because they don't want Irish culture in their game?
I find stuff like this both funny and sad.

An Irish themed mech for St Patricks Day would have been a great idea, it's too bad that we've already planned out and started working the March and April content.
Also you guys are reading too much into the Year of the Dragon comment, I was just alluding to the fact that we could expect more Kuritan innovations down the road! Lots of Kuritan content, some cosmetic and some will change the playing field of MWO entirely. Stay tuned!
I wonder what they could be...

I take that as confirmation for IS omnis since that's where they were built first.
