The stock loadout could've used endosteel, bigger xl engine, standard armour, and put the heat sinks into the engines but other than that it's ok I guess, nothing other than absolute stock purists can't/won't fix.

You'd effectively lose one heatsink in doing so (along the CASE-protection, but eh), for a 6kph speed increase. I personally think the stock loadout we have is at peak performance from an optimization standpoint.

I grabbed it and played around with some loadouts. Most matches went really well and I am not really good with heavies. Loaded it up with 7 ER Smalls and the 4 SRM 6s which seemed to gel pretty good range wise and alpha really well. Maxed out torso speed in skills and its pretty easy to bring the shield around.

Major weakness I noticed was the torso. I know BKs are supposed to have hard to hit torsos but people were blowing them off fairly often. You really need to be aware of people higher up since they can shoot over the shield and stick with the team (as per usual with big mechs). Otherwise it was a different playstyle than I was used to so it took some time to get it down. Once I did it was a lot of fun.

Well done.

Red reaper is a great QP mech. Skilled pilots with time to think can bypass the shield, but in general melee it absorbs a lot of damage and keeps on going. I run mine with 4xSRM6 6xMLas 1xERSlas and a LE325. Shave armor off the head and left arm. Only problem is it runs very hot- but can shield while you cool down. The R torso I give more back armor to than I usually do on mechs because it is easy to over rotate and expose your back.

It is unfortunate that physical attacks are impossible in MechWarrior Online.

I have been using it since I recently purchased it.
ISXL is impossible and I strongly recommend that it be LE.
This shield is really great. I have a hard time understanding why the clan doesn't have...

Shield is a piece of the Inner Sphere technology that the Clans have not accepted yet.

Such a... Such a sad story!
Is PGI favoring IS and giving the clan the cold shoulder...
I heard that a MECH called SLAGMAIDEN is the clan's shield MECH, is this difficult?

Settle down, Clanboy. First, that 'mech is a hybrid of IS and Clan technologies - something which totally breaks MWO's game balance mechanisms. Second, it's in the Jihad era, which is beyond what we have in game today.

hmm...
Actually, I only know this game, so I know nothing about the huge background story!
If you can't make an appearance backbone-wise... I guess that's just the way it is. Sad...

No, it is not. Mechs such as Stone Rhino or Kraken or many others prove that this is not the case.

"Slagmaiden" is not a Clan 'Mech. It is an Inner Sphere 'Mech, that just adds one Clan weapon (ClanTech laser) on IS chassis. But this is something we have not seen in MechWarrior Online so far.

I see where you're coming from; but there are no canon Clan 'mechs with shields, so we probably won't see one. As for PGI favoring the IS over the Clans... that's not at all true. Clantech is - and has been - at least equal to IS tech. Even today, with balance at a good place overall, the Clans tend to come out on top; just look at the 'mechs played in any of the championship series.

Clan mechs are easier to build. They have a narrower selection of more powerful generalist equipment which means opportunities to screw up your build are much limited. The IS has a broader selection of more specialized equipment which means you need to use more than the one and a half brain cells grognards usually dedicate to building to actually get something usable, which is not to say its hard, its just *a touch* harder.

Given most matches are won or lost in the mechlab, long before people even hit queue, its not an insignificant impact.

Never underestimate the potential of some potatoes to screw up builds, we all seen horrendous clan mechs.

Anyway, I've just learn a mech is called "Slagmaiden" and I find it really cool. Posted Image

Oh I would never dispute that.
