I just got done playing two matches and in both of them, my teammates act like there is no friendly fire! First match I get blasted in the back, twice!, from one teammate. The the second I get an arm taken off by one! The thing about the second one is that the person wasn't even shooting anywhere near where any of the enemy were!

There are 2 possibilities:
1) You cross their line of fire. Remember, that Assaults have wide hardpoints and players use zoom, that narrows their FOV, when they snipe. If you try to get in front of them to get "better" position - you can get hit.
2) Lights with blue lazors sniping from behind, where they can't even be noticed - is new trend. Sometimes your teammates don't react to them. Sometimes I have matches, where there are several teammates around me, I'm shot from all directions and nobody can't cover at least one of them. Useless teammates - is common problem in Tier 3-4. The biggest question - why all of them are always in your team, while enemy team seem to have some brain.

fixed that for you.

@the OP's problem:
it happens often enough, as in: it's fairly common. quite a few matches where you drop and get shot in the very first 10seconds. and not by the reds.
somebody then says "oooops, sorry - was just testing my firing groups" - or doesn't say anything at all, people are busy pushing buttons after all.
just rest assured that it happens on both sides and all the time.

it is annoying AF, but there's nothing anybody can do about it, especially in rotatoe-queue.

some advice:
as a rule of thumb, when you yourself are good with running 1-2pts of back-armor and have had good experiences with that in faction or comp:
just triple it for QP and don't think about it;
cause when you do, you'll just get salty - while you're still getting shot by your trusty teammates ;D

People need to learn to use the testing grounds for thier weapon testing and not QP...

People need to learn to aim somewhere safe when testing weapons at start of the match, like sky.... not that hard to learn.

I sometimes see ppc bolts flying through the air, at least when I played, and was like "Thanks for letting me know what direction you are."

I've been guilty of this more times than I like to admit, I get a nice firing position, zoom in and start blasting, then someone walks up into my line of fire and I don't see them Posted Image

I don't stay zoomed in more than a few salvos at a time before I zoom out and assess my situation again, so I rarely get more than one or two salvos off into a team mate before I notice, but its embarrassing (even though it's technically their fault).

Something like this has happened to me once or twice during my MWO career, not proud of it.

Well enemy spawn locations are information available to everyone, shouldn't surprise anyone really.
For example: https://maps.mwocomp...=25bzcAVx6bEcvB

You forget MWO is in end game mode Farming players is the objective no matter what team there on they let you go ahead from spawn and shoot you in the back they shoot you in combat in the back and they care not what team you are on or they try to strip all your weapons so you cannot make a difference in the game's outcome.

These players care not if you have fun as long as they get their little e-peens off ruining the matches and the games.

Nonsense.
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

you know very well where it comes from. and as a former faction-player, it's quite sad to see the state of things in QP - but that has ALWAYS been the case.
in faction and with the right people (read: almost ALL factionplayers), you'd know your team has your back.
your armor-up accordingly.
in QP, you know your team has your back, too. in their crosshairs.
just be happy when they don't goof around in the DZ, but prepare for it anyways.

The classic is people surfing the web whilst they wait for the game to kick off, then they click the icon in the task bar and the click registers through to the game - at which point you shoot into the back of the person in front of you.

Other than that, I take it that friendly fire is just a hazard and far less irritating to me than the person that walks up the ramp an inch behind you, or steps in behind you as you peek round a corner - and blocks you from reversing back out if you need to.

I always play with a bullseye on my mech's posterior for this reason, and a "point toward enemy" decal in front between the hips. Posted Image

But yeah, it never ceases to amaze me how I can be pouring RAC fire downrange and a team mate just crosses right in front of me like they didn't see the constant (and loud) stream of projectiles. Situational awareness is never a given.

This is some top tier advice.
Translation: Hide behind your pug armor.
If you're getting shot in the back, it's because you aren't in a Direwolf using your team as bait. ;)

Call me a bad person but I do not stop RACing if someone jump in my stream of metallic happyness singing "I dance, dance, dance with my hands, hands, hands above maaaaah heeead!!!"...

I swear it wasn't meh! Not even drink anything!
Jokes away!
I more concerned about those "elites" whom did it in your face... Or those whom react to everything with a nice "f**k you!"...
Or the butt-hack boyz... Those whom see you try to retreat, stand behind you and even shot! Well, mostly it done by a single person but "naming is caring" CoC rule and all... Or just weekend bait forth the creatures of darkness in such large numbers?

A-yupp, weekends are always a different story...

sometimes you are in a bad spot and the only way out is through somone's lead stream. frankly there are worse weapons to cross in front of than racs. massed laser vomit, hgauss and hags for example. but you can usually time your passage between shots on those.

most of these problems could be solved if teams would spread out a little more, i mean not across the map, but far enough apart where a locust can squeeze between them. i know i get punchy in tight formations. this is why this game needs more aoe weapons to incentivize keeping safe distance (xcom players know).

MW5 AI NPCs sure don't LMAO, you're lucky if they manage to walk and breath at the same time.
