Probably not what you wanna know, but I think I saw someone doing this in Mechwarrior Living Legends (never played it, saw it in a video). A spotter's tag guiding missiles in flight on a circling path to get around cover.

Eh, can it be done? Maybe? Should it be done? No. I wouldn't trust the game engine to do that nor the netcode. I'm sure it would be an engineering disaster.

as cool that'd be, not happening. too much coding.
if i recall they also had laser guided bombs. (i played it and honestly enjoyed it way more than MWO despite totally sucking.)

This has been asked for repeatedly, and the response from PGI has been it doesn't play well with HSR and given there is no engineering, it wouldn't happen even if it did.

i dont think its technically possible due to hsr. but thats the way living legends tag works and it is good.
reason is hsr needs everything to be deterministic and players aiming is not. so you would have to keep a history of everywhere the laser was pointed that covers all client time offsets.and that increases the memory demands of the server.

When i remember correctly, Arrow IV worked that way.
