It seems that the damage from Plasma is splashing like an ERPPC or a snubby, and i don't think it's suppose to do that.

According to the db table they linked the plasma cannon does 4.5 pinpoint and 1 splash.

It's 4.5 pinpoint and 1 splash to each adjacent component, which means it does 6.5 max damage.

I'd rather see the splash damage removed and heat to target increased. These are supposed to be enhanced ammo-fed flamers after all.

Agreed. Instead of 4.5 + 1 splash per location, make it 6 damage, and up the heat by A LOT. I had a buddy do some test in a private lobby, and his Dire Wolf with 10 PCs on chain fire shut down long before he could push me to the 90% heat cap. If they want the heat to be part of the weapon, then make it part of the weapon, don't just tack on a token amount to pay lip serves to lore.

I'd rather they just be Clan Snubs.

Yes, clan needs snubs.

Well as I said earlier according to a little cauldron bird they have zero plans to make plasma into a clan lppc so turning it into some sort of middle ground short/mid range brawl ppc might work. I think they added in plasma just to say they added in a new clan ppc option but they didn't really want it added. I understand due to clan being able to boat so many sinks and the glut of energy hardpoints paired with fire scripts would make a clan lppc spam mech quite onerous. This is why clan er ppc are still so hot and so slow to fire so its hard to spam them.

plasma cannon suck... period. 4.5 damage and 0.25 heat? (omg bad) for 3 tons and 2 crits. To make them worthwhile, there would have to be DRASTIC increases in both damage and heat given to the target to mean anything.

Well reverse what I said earlier about plasma. Seems the little bird got outvoted and now plasma will go down to 4.5~5.5 heat as per phil on ngng. Thats going to be waaay more manageable.
