Fix Bap Or Remove Ecm

I am sick of all the ECM mechs that I can not target or get within range to make it so I can not target anyone. Bap is supposedly supposed to counter this but I just played 3 games in a row that it did not. You nerf the hell out of lock on systems as is at least fix this.

are you using TAG at all

I ve found it is only an issue when a bunch of ecm packing mechs are together. Dare say which mech and loadout do you use? How do you play said loadout?

Also, competent teamwork helps a lot, a lot of playersr like to go lone wolf and thats an easy way to die really fast in this game.

There are ECM only mechs, then there are Stealth/ECM mechs (IS only). Tag/Narc/PPCs work on Stealth, BAP/ACP works only at one ECM only mech one at a time. (will edit if needed).

It would make more sense if additional proximate ECM suites added time to disrupts instead of nullifying them.

Did u check mechdb about how sensors ECM and bap actually work? Your XP sound like either being in two ECM range, facing and stealth mech or simply out of counter range.

Hello!

While it is true that your Beagle Active Probe can disable one enemy Electronic Counter Measures suite, the range of your BAP is very limited (120 m). If the enemy 'Mech is outside the effective radius of your BAP, his ECM keeps its functionality.

Also, if there are two or more enemy 'Mechs carrying ECM suites, you are out of luck because your BAP can disable only one enemy ECM.

Does the ASP (Advanced Sensor Package) with +10% Sensor Range Boost (when also used with BAP at the same time) help in any way to counter ECM?

While we are on this topic, thought that I might want to ask...

The Advanced Sensor Package alone does not help to counter enemy ECM. I do not think that it boosts the anti-ECM functionality of BAP.

Hello all,

I wonder if it would be useful to create something like an 'enhanced BAP' which could have greater range and the ability to burn through stacked ecm suites, at the cost of more weight and/or slots. I don't use BAP very much, preferring a Tag laser when using lock-on weapons.

I think the easiest solution would be skill nodes.

Two "Enhanced Active Probe" nodes, each giving the same range bonus as the ECM nodes and a bonus to ECM counter strength, for a total of two to three ECM countered within the BAP's range.

The problem is how to balance it against ECM. I would imagine a crowd of ECM people protesting on the forums. Posted Image

Just be aware, that tag doesn't work if u are under low signal status. That means for streak boats bap is a must have. Many players are confused with this situation (I have tag on him, why can't I lock on...)

Oh I'm sure the salt would flow. Posted Image

Some of the balance would come from the sacrifice in weigh/slots/weapons/ammo/skill nodes required to equip a better performing BAP and the enhancement themselves would have to be reasonable.

Well, if ECM / Stealth are the problem, would not be easier to simply tone them down as needed instead of introducing a new piece of equipment?

To be fair, it would make sense to make the BAP null all ECM inside it's bubble, as the bubble is so small. This still does nothing for long range tho.
