Hi what exactly do you need help with ?
This website https://mwo.nav-alpha.com/ is very useful, there is lot of weird information on it, you can try building mechs without buying them, I spend lot of time here.
You can also "Enter Testing Grounds" with any mechs, even if you do not own them and only select them at store. You can try different weapons on mechs you own without having to buy them and even try out skills for free this way.

New MWO Cadets (new players) get that first-25 game bonuses, which really helps!
Testing Grounds also offer the only series of tutorials available to us.
But you know that already...

Did you know that you can try out mechs that you have not bought, add in the new weapons, and test it in the Testing Grounds, *all*for*free?
[Store]>>[BattleMechs], and choose your mech (even ones that you have not yet bought!)
[View_In_MechLab], customize your proposed mech
[MechStats] on the lower right hand side of your MechLab, and [Enter_Testing_Grounds]

Also:
Weapon stats of new weapons

Ghost Heat tables

Tell them to visit Academy and Training Grounds:

Academy is useful for getting acquainted with the game.
They can return there any time they wish.

It's almost like it's too much trouble for PGI to actually write out accurate tool tips and update them.
Maybe they are just suffering form NMJS, Not My Job Syndrome.
