yeah for the mech with jump jets, it would help I think, open to better suggestions though

The issue there is "based on what?" There are very few (none) maps that have level terrain. If you are using JJs, you simply need to know the layout of the terrain underneath you and pay attention. Are you jumping and staring at the sky whilst doing it? Are you getting yourself stuck in Adv. Zoom while airborne?

You eye ball it, thats the only way right now and it isn't ideal, I need to know how far I am from the ground when I jump , might not be relevant for assaults mech but it is for lights that can jump quite high.

It doesn't have to be fancy, some numbers on display will do.
