Legendary Mech Battlepass Stays Locked

So i redeemed a legendary mech through the event and did play it for 2 days but the battlepass is still locked!
Now i wonder if owning the mech is not enough.
There are mixed infos regarding how to unlock the battlepass on different pages on MWO.
(own and play mech/purchase pack)
Soo are legendary mechs redeemed through events not eligable to unlock the battlepass?
If so - what would be the reason behind that? Why would i need to buy the same mech again?
Or is it an issue with servers/api currently?
Thanks for any info/help :-)

Its designation will end with (LGD) - for example MAD-IIC-DN(LGD).
If you buy the same 'Mech in the in-game store (you know, in the game client that you use to play the game) for MCs, you are getting the Hero 'Mech without that Battlepass and other stuff. However, even without the Battlepas, the 'Mech will still give you the usual C-Bills bonus.
Its designation will not include (LGD) - for example MAD-IIC-DN.
If you redeem the same 'Mech as a prize from some challenge, you are getting the Hero 'Mech version without that Battlepass and other stuff.
Again, it will be MAD-IIC-DN.

Because i actualy did buy a Legendary Mech before and even that battlepass took 2 days to actualy showing any progress.
Well what a shame.
Hopefully they will make it more clear for others in the future who have the same situation because for me personaly this a hugh issue!
Would have chosen a Mech without a Battlepass instead if that was clear enough.
Now im left with a good mech but never will be happy with that choice.
And this is counter productive for the devs because this means im mostlikely going to spend less money on this game overall in the future - i wouldnt say that practice is anti-consumer but its also not honest.
And in times like these we players want transparency and honesty from developers and will almost always reward this!
Well see you on the battlefield ... with my non-legendary Juggernaut :-/

As I usually say: The PGI's store and pricing policy both suck.
