The Ebon Jag's Inner Sphere name is the Cauldron-born, which is why the chassis was chosen.

As for variant, I believe both Jags were the -A in the past. Jags often require pod mixing to fully maximize the builds, but the -A has a nice so8 and so does the -B (in particular agility). Combined with the fact that the -B didn't have a cbill boosted variant (S) and that's why it was chosen.

The previous Cauldron-Born 'Mechs were the "B" alternate configuration (1 'Mech) and the "Primary" configuration (2 'Mechs)-

The Match Score requirements are minimal. Essentially, unless you are really unlucky, every game should qualify.

The Cauldron-Born can run multiple LRM racks quite easily.

If it's useful for some reason (and each of us can have one), it's always possible not to redeem it...

It is a special variant and thus cannot be sold. You get the Mech with a Mech bay included, so you lose nothing by redeeming it.
