just as the title says, what are your thoughts on the Bullshark that PGI is releasing soon.

for those that don't know the Bullshark was a mech added to Hair Brained Scheme's "Battletech". its was part of a small side quest and if i remember right (its has been a bit since i played that game) it was a creation of that game developer and not from the core lore itself (though i could be mistaken). though their main feature there was that they had Mech Mortars (something we don't have in MWO)

so far we don't have an quirk lists or anything yet but we have some good idea of hardpoint placement and such things. honestly i i always slort of liked the look of the Bullshark and will keep it in mind if i am still Playing MWO when it comes out for C-bills.

(side thought, do you think we might get Mech Mortars in the future?)

I love the model. To be accurate to the Bull Shark as it was presented in HBS Battletech, they could have added bonus arty strike consumable slots. That aside, each variant features some excellent high hardpoints in each side torso, so you're going to see them used just for that. I see the 2, the 3, and the Mako being very popular for this reason.

I'm not so crazy about the 2 and the Mako requiring the extra levels of the mech pack in order to get, but they'll be available for MC later. So I'll be picking up the base pack with the add on for the BSK-2(s).

And as always, I wish I could hear the war horn before I purchase...

Yes we have, on this page (click on the screenshot for a better look). Nothing spectacular.

As for the mech, I like the design, it looks like a chubby baby, very cute.
And the hardpoint placement looks good.

But it's another assault mech, so meh... Posted Image

Hitboxes will be bad, I suspect it will be like the corsair, a high mounted bad hitbox mech, but this will be more oriented toward medium range since it has no range quirk but more hardpoints (as far as I looked I could be wrong). The corsair still might be distinct from it due to many corsairs having very good mounts in the torsos AND the arms, while this only has good torso mounts.

One Corsair variant can boat four AMS. If I see correctly, all Bull Shark variants have just that one usual AMS hardpoint.

You all noticed that the BSK-4 and BSK-M are Clan battlemechs, right?

i didn't but damn thats a bummer. they should have had 2 Hero mechs then one fore each. i don't like Clan mechs in general. still it will be a while before i play around with it since i ain't paying real cash for any of PGI's mech packs unless they substantially lower the cost. (i am not paying the price of a full game for some little extra, would rather spend that cash on a new game or something i actually need)

Looks pretty cool, but also based on those angles I expect it to be pretty easy to isolate components (at least when I am being shot at in the things; I can barely hit the broadside of a Broadside, let alone focus most components). Not really digging another assault with massive alpha potential, but will probably buy the JJ capable ones once they are available for C-bills. At this point, the lore, or lack thereof, is irrelevant.

yup, one thing I will NOT be putting on the is Inner Sphere XL engines. It’s not as bad as the Ebon Jag or Blood Asp can be, but it does have bunny ears built in that can be shot from any angle.

Definiitly would have prefered a non-assault mech or even better "ancients" pack with woodsman and kingfisher.

Very much this. It is the sexy sports car version of the dumpster heap that is the Corsair.

hey now what do you expect from a mech cobbled together from spare parts of busted mechs, the Corsair does the best it can with what it has.

Actually the fact that the CT is huge and easy to hit might make it XL friendly. Could be good if you constantly abuse the mounts and never confront anyone until they're weakened.

Fair point, testing will tell. If I die to CT and have side torsos often, I'll make an XL variant. But first... a solid two weeks of theorycrafting. Posted Image

It's not going to get much quirks with geometry that good.
