I’d really like to do more Faction Play, but it seems like either no one ever does it, and possibly no one even wants to. I don’t really understand why, because the faction rewards look pretty dang enticing, and every time I’ve played, I found it quite enjoyable.
So what gives? Is there like some specific time where it’s best to do Faction Play? Why is everyone so averse? Is there something I need to do to get in on more of that action?
Seriously, I enjoy it every time I play, and the rewards are decent, so frankly I don’t see why everyone seems to avoid it like a vampire avoids garlic.
What gives?

People do not like to sit for long time and lose, in quickplay if you lose you can get into new game very fast.
I also think FP is super fun, even if you lose, having 4 mechs and more objectives on map is fun.
Best time is usually friday or weekend and evening hours, usually 19:00-20:00 in Europe.
If you join some faction, you can see Faction Chat too, sometime people start asking for more people even during other days and hours.
And if you bring friend you have bigger chance to get into game, faction play takes people in groups first, then people who are alone.

FP is a good subject to talk about
but in reality it does not play out as a good game mode

FP was never really a central part of the game as much as PGI wanted it to be the "end game". now i haven't played FP for many years (other than the odd FP event like is going on at the time of this post) so take what i have to say with that in mind. the game wasn't a bad idea at all and it likely wouldn't be pretty much dead if not for the big units. during the event its not so bad since lots of Solo droppers means that it mitigates the problem. trouble is the big groups sort of killed the game mode for anyone not in a unit that could put together a premade 12 man. not only were the vast majority of the large units back then a bunch of toxic shitbags but they would often change factions if they went against another big 12 man groups (while crying that they wanted a challenge). so in the end you have it being one faction dominated by 12 mans (making it so that that solos of that faction have to wait even longer for matches) going up against pug groups. getting slammed every match after having to wait quite some time for it in the first place and then the game mode itself taking longer just doesn't make it that appealing.
now as much as i dislike the mode itself i have to say that these events are great for it since it brings in more solos and small groups. though i am only going to play the mode until i get the reward i want from the event then its back to quickplay where i can actually be on the winning team regularly. (4 matches the day of this post and only 1 win (all on the attacking side))
