Can you still get the Founders skins/titles? I was talking to someone in-game and the impression was given that a large monetary donation to PGI will give you both.

No, this is no longer possible.

The deadline was August 2012.

Nah, the Founder's pack is no longer offered. It was a crowdfunding effort akin to Kickstarter.

Something I wish they would offer again to gin up some funds to get some actual dev code work done on the game. There are still issues to fix that wouldn't take a huge amount of dev time but all their efforts are now in mw5 clans then on to the new pvp game so the owners won't free any of it up. But I think if they put out a list of intended fixes with a price tag attached and offered up a similar deal like the original founders pack we could get the money to have them devote some loving to our aging baby. I mean look at how much they raised with the TSP pack?

Nah, let them offer up a new pack. I mean, MWO's successor is underway now, there's going to be a crowdfunding effort soon I think.

Oh I will definitely drop some money on an mwo2 crowd fund. But since the new pvp game is going to be paid participation the base game would have to be included in the perks for paying up front.

However thats years away and this ole girl still has plenty of life left in her.

The first Platinum Packs were specifically focused on offering C-Bill boosted versions of the variants included in both the Founder and the equally no longer available Project Phoenix packs too. This is probably closest you'll see to a return of either pack if we are realistic.

No, they used different variants for some or all of the Founders/Phoenix, but I get the gist of what you're saying.

There's conflicting info now. In one interview/podcast it was intimated that an MWO sequel was in the works, but the most recent interview/podcast seems to indicate that may not be the case. Either way, it would be sensible for them to make a sequel, they have the license til at least 2030. It should be underway at this point if they're going to capitalize on the time they have.

Also they've avoided calling it MWO 2, it is going to be different from MWO. Only similarity you can bank on is that it'll be pvp.

yeah honestly that depends on if it is a one time buy or some kind of monthly fee. if its good enough and not too pricey i would consider it but if it is just more of what i have come to expect from PGI then its a no go. even if its good i wouldn't pay more than $30. (before you say that you can't have a good game for that little i beg to differ. there have been plenty of indi games in that price range that are really good)

if its a a monthly fee sort of thing then they can go hang themselves

I think their monetization has been fairly successful considering how niche Mechwarrior is. MWO2 will probably see bigger numbers on release and I hope capture a larger audience. Nothing else like it really exists. I wouldn't have thought this game would persist for 10+ years.

yeah i do have to admit that as far as Free to play games go MWO has a pretty good model. i do think their prices for mech packs and such are WAY to high but on the other hand i can give them credit in that the vast majority of the pay for mechs are relatively well balanced against the rest of the mechs in the chassis (after they have been out a while that is). they also give out enough MC so that the new free players can get those much needed mech bays easily enough. i even think they increased the number of bays you get in the MC Bay Pack (that or there was some kind of sale on last i checked it.
