X-Pulse lasers cant compete with their standard inner sphere counterparts. They are almost not worth their weight unless exclusively used in pairs for sheer rate of fire.

You should compare those weapons based on total cycle times, along with DPS factors and the limitations on their control. It so happens as of my last check that X-Pulse Lasers actually do a bit more damage when total cycle times are considered. Even with the short burst of those X-Pulse Lasers when striking a target, they ultimately deal more total damage over time while Standard Pulse versions sit there making you wait for recharge. For the note, I very much understand that holding on-target for an extended period can seem non-viable for any number of reasons, which actually puts Standard Pulse on the downside due to chances that you'll lose tracking on your target and have a lot of damage fly off elsewhere. However you put it, it so happens that X-Pulse are in a good spot at 150% at this time, and you really do not want someone who can nerf it catching on to this. :(
