keep reading the October patch leaks, and noticed some things, like the summoner II pack....is the summoner II treated as a new mech of its own (with its own variants? or is it a new variant for the already existing summoner's group?

The Grand Summoner will have 4 mechs.
SMN-II-P(S)
SMN-II-B
SMN-II-C
SMN-II-T "Talon" hero mech

They said that it would not have interchangeable omnipods with the Summoner, so it's probably a separate mech.

The Grand Summoner (AKA Summoner II, Thor II) is absolutely a separate 'Mech. It does NOT have interchangeable OmniPods with the original Summoner (Thor).

"In Universe," the Grand Summoner has an Endo Steel internal structure, which is completely incompatible with the Summoner's conventional structure. They are actually totally different 'Mechs, with clear design similarities, but NOT interchangeable.
