i dont understand why people are so concerned about the usefullness of the bane.10 uac2 will be beast mode, at least in tier 3-5 you will wreck mechs easily.playing the ultra violet with his famous build and i never was in the situation to call it a bad mech

Standard UAC2 spam requires you to stare at the target. The main issue is that you can dish the damage but you absolutely cannot take it in return. Combined with that fact that the Bane is a wide boy and its guns are located in the arms equals your not going to do the necessary damage the mechs supposed to do.
The only good variant is the LRM boat and thats it because your not being shot at.

Bought the package and optimized them as much as possible. I play Assaults a lot and not terribly bad only. This Mech I personally call "The Pain" and not because it is a pain for the enemy. It just doesn't work. No speed, no flexibility, armor/hitboxes are hell and the weapon crunching (8xLRM15 and such nonsense) is just not worth it (no Tag, no Laser). In my opinion it's probably the worst design ever. Can work in very well trained and coordinated lances where it is protected and supported well. But for standalone play I would choose any other mech over it.

Yeah, the whole idea of a "glass cannon" 100 ton mech with how MWO plays is just absurd. I regret buying the Bane. It's hitboxes are absurdly bad, it's slow, and because it has laughable armor quirks it dies quickly. The CT is so massive you can get hit by a mech you can't see yet.

Share your builds and recordings of gameplay and then we can decide if it’s “the Indian or the arrow”. I’ve played plenty of Bane and if I carelessly expose thinking I can tank like another assault, I’ll lose a bunch of armor. But if I play cagey, use the high mounts, and trade well (which I usually do), the fire can overwhelm plenty of targets. I’d say the cannon part is functioning just fine. I’ve said it before…. “Anyone who typically brags about tanking xyz damage instead of shooting and killing will fare poorly in the Bane”.
