Why do I even bother? We're getting the Widowmaker, but for MW5:Clans, not MWO. Lo! and behold, it's not the Widowmaker itself. Oh, no! It's a variant that's gotten PGI BS treatment.
ER PPC, ERLL, and LRM/2 SRM in the right arm, and in the left, ER PPC, UAC/20, and LRM/2 SRM. x3 ER Mediums RT. And nothing else! I swear not a damn one of these people ever played a tabletop battle in their lives.
When I first looked at the Widowmaker variant sheet, one thing I realized was that it brought very little to the table omnipod wise. Once you start factoring later DWF variants, pretty much everything the WM does is covered by something else. When Natasha Kerensky returned to Clan Wolf and performed her Trial of Position in Blood Legacy(I’m out and about, it might have been a different book so don’t quote me on that part), she made a temporary modification to her Dire Wolf. That version never got an official tabletop variant sheet and the listing on Sarna doesn’t go into much detail, but if you read the book you can see her new loadout.
It felt a little wrong on my end to be building this brand new hero mech we were going to put on the cover and then the hero mech just be a glorified skin with normal hardpoints. So instead we went with the book version. It may not the Widowmaker everyone is used to seeing, but it is still a Widowmaker.
