The Great and Grand tradition:

"The Urbie Derby"

Brothers, Sisters, Freeborn or Vat-birthed. I fear and grieve for our community as for all these cycles or War and Skirmish, we have forgotten the things that make the Terran race human.

The Urbie Derby was a traditional event during the Turkey Season. Where we, as a community of mech pilots would drop our banners and for one day cycle, gather together and share a processed turkey dawg and watch as a group of madcap teams patch together the parts of and Urbanmech and race. They need not be pretty, they need not have enough ammo nor armour being held on by duct tape and the collected will of the pit crew mechanics. All they needed to do was cross the finish line still moving.

I ask, no, I demand to CommStar that they give us back our freedom. Give us a track filled with steep and weaving mountain climbs and risky falls. Give us triggered land mine fields and surprise artillery fire. Racing fast and shooting true to be the either the first over the finish line, or the last pilot standing.

Give us the Glory of The Urbie Derby!

"To the Developers, I humbly offer this as a suggestion as a recurring Special Festive Event open for 2-4 teams of four Urbanmechs to run a circuit and survive being shot in the back by the opposing team to cross over the finish line first to win the event. This is a similar event to the game of football in No-man's land during Christmas of WWI"

"To the Mecha-jockeys, I humbly offer this for your perusal. If you would like to try this out, please up like the main post and add anything else you might like to see in the Urbie Derby in the replies.
Let's make this something to look forward to every year!"
