Trials of War Goes Free!
This week, the Trials of War DLC will begin transitioning from a paid add-on to a free one. Plus, anyone who purchased the DLC will receive a full refund.
The timing of this transition, the refund process, and how to acquire the DLC for free will vary depending on your platform. Here’s everything you need to know:
Microsoft / Xbox Store
- Price Change Timing: The price change is in process and should take 3–5 days. We’ve requested an expedited timeline.
- Free Acquisition: Once the price change is live, you’ll be able to download the DLC for free from the Xbox Store.
- Refunds: Refunds will be issued automatically by Xbox Customer Service within 2 weeks. There’s no need to contact Xbox support.
Steam
- Price Change Timing: Expected this week.
- Free Acquisition: The DLC will become part of the base game purchase. If you already own the base game, the DLC will be automatically added to your library.
- Refunds: Steam will handle refunds. Please allow some time for these to reflect on your payment method.
Epic Games Store

- Free Acquisition: Players who don’t own the DLC can download it for free once the price change goes live.
- Note: If you already own Trials of War and lose ownership, simply reacquire it at the free price.
- Refunds: Epic will issue refunds. Please allow time for this to process.
Sony / PlayStation
- Status: We’re actively working with Sony to finalize the price change and refund process.
- Details: Updates on timing and instructions will be added to this post as soon as they are available.
