in a word no, PGI has put MWO of life support and aren't going to be doing any more actual work on the game. we may get a new map every once in a very long while or a new mech but other than that and simple value changes (done by the Cauldron and not PGI themselves.) the have stated that they are not putting any resources into MWO. there is always MW5: Mercs for some PvE with some friends play. though sadly its only really enjoyable if heavily modded.
there are rumors of an MWO 2 coming in the future but i won't hold my breath on it. its likely they will milk MW5: Clans for the next few years, popping out the odd DLC now and again. only when that money starts to dry up will they likely even think of any work on MWO or a future MWO 2.

Only if by "rumors" you mean "fan base wishful thinking"

i still haven't figured out how to use that feature in mw5. i guess you have to know people who play the game.

if i knew i would tell ya. honestly MWO is the only multiplayer game i play these days and the only PvP only game i have played in a very long time. i'm sure it would be easy enough to look up. also some mods are only needed by the hosting player while others are needed by all.
