I've never been able to join an 'Event Queue', mainly because of IRL. I was active all week, but I was focused on the loot awards and forgot. I didn't see any options for the event. Do you have to be in faction play to join these?

Nope. Unfortunately, this Event Queue is over now, and we can only hope it gets executed better next time.

During the Event Queue period, on the top right where it says Quick Play, Faction, etc., a new button will be available labeled as Event Queue.

Unlike Quick Play, you cannot select a new mech and queue up for another match. You'll have to wait until the match is done.
