I really enjoyed it, I'm only worried that PGI will "fix" it to make the whiners happy.

I think may see more partially collapsed ledges to create ramps. I tend to use Heat Vision most often on this map, especially with all of the trees, terrain features and general lighting.

the only fixes id like to see is better low ground cover. though as i play the map the low ground gets a bit more usable. never jump down if you dont see a ramp in the immediate vicinity or have jump jets. places where ways out are distant need the most help.

people who have played the map a lot have an advantage over those who have not, but that's just the usual new map experience. people coming to it late are going to be salty (also easily fixed by locusting around in the testing grounds). eventually it will grow as stale as the others.

its not bad so far. i have only been able to play a handful of times on it but its not that bad. its has a lot of potential if PGI doesn't ruin it.

thats because they have it on a special setting right now that brings it up more often so people have a better chance of playing it. once it goes full live it will likely stay at a higher percentage for a bit then settle back to the same chance as all the others to pop up.

I like the verticality of it. My only real critique is the color. Horizontal and vertical colors need WAY more contrast. Right now it is all beige all the time. I would absolutely love a new kind of tree also. Please? The placement of trees is a bit on the crappy side, TBH. perhaps bunch them up into groves? The random one tree space one tree space on tree space one tree space.... you get the idea. No so great. But overall I say YES, new map!!!

I prefer to start with something that can jump really high and run fast, like a spider, to run around the map and get used to it. I need to research cockpits, and see which high jumping fast light has the best visibility.

FWIW, flea has better cockpit visibility than Locust, for zooming around learning the map.

really doesnt matter, you just need something fast to explore the map. jj to explore jump potential. sometimes running something tall (but otherwise fast) can give you your assault perspective. and you can always switch to the free cam as well (i forgret the key to enable that). you can also take stuff you dont own to the testing grounds as well.

i consider the trees to be the enemy. i wish their hit box was bigger to make them easier to hit. the tbolt i was running was perfect, with 2 lppcs in direct horizontal alignment with the cockpit center. blast trees for days.

Its a very flanky map with lots of options to move around especially for fast lights and mediums with some range. But its also a very brawly map as while it has long sight lines for sniping no particular fight is going to last very long in any particular lane so opportunities to snipe are few if you are in a traditional slow red line farmer. From what I have seen so far is that the team that stays grouped rolls the team that splits almost every time. Not every time as sometimes the flankers carry the match but its not common.

So far I am enjoying it. There are options for brawl, snipe, and mid range. I will say the event is a little troubled as more than once I have found myself getting hammered right as I drop; that NEVER makes for an enjoyable experience.

There should be a few more options for non-JJ mechs to get out of some of those fishbowls they can find themselves in.

Yep, new map is good. But what with all the trees? Those are the worst.

If they reduced some of the sightlines it'd be great. My biggest gripe is the sheer number of bugs I've found on it. Everytime I play it I find a new one.

as for the trees i have noticed a few floating ones here and there that need to be fixed. the map could also use a few more ways up out of the riverbeds but other than that i think its fine so far. need more matches on it to be sure of how i feel.

I have the curse of Luthien. I've yet to play a single round where my team doesn't get badly outflanked and shot from multiple directions. I'm still waiting to be on THAT team.
