I don't know if it's Flea level, but the Lanner is indeed crazy nimble with its huge engine and MASC. Even compared to others MASCed mediums, it's more nimble than a Shadow Cat, a Rival or a Phoenix Hawk. Its only weakness mobility wise is the lack of JJs, but when it comes to accel/decel and changing direction it has no competition in its weight class.
It's really a delight to pilot (I'm a MASC aficionado).

It's interesting that people think it is more nimble because the numbers don't seem to back that up completely.

It's roughly on par with the Stormcrow at base level (with MASC though it does outperform).
The Shadow Cat has the decel advantage and is roughly the same turn rate but the Lanner does have better speed/accel/twist rate which makes it feel better.
The Pixies with MASC can outmaneuver it though, just depends a bit on the build you are running (since ground speed plays heavily into how maneuverable it is).

The TL;DR is it is highly reliant on MASC for that performance. It's lack of JJs and worse sustained DPS are what sort of hold it back.

And, yeah... MASC is basically the thing that defines the chassis. Stormcrow has more pod space, the Shadow Cat is bouncy with more pod weight, but slower and less durable, etc, etc. But fast response and MASC are what define the build - so if we're looking for what the Lanner does better, that's it. That's the niche. Is it the best Medium? Ehh, no... but I think it'll work in Quick Play, and if the OP wants to build it for what it's for, that's how he's gotta use it.

I don't think the Lanner is more mobile than, say, the Shadow Cat, although it does boast a faster travel speed - but its characteristics do allow it to do a couple of things other Mediums of its type cannot, and that's what the OP is looking for.

Yes, I picked up that habit from the little Megamek/TT I played.
