I know it won't bother most players, but this really bothers me.
You named the map "Luthien", which is the name of the entire planet. Please name it Luthien Something, I don't care at all what. Just not only "Luthien".
This tiny map is not an entire planet. I know lots of players won't care but I really, really do. I roleplay pretty hard as a Kurita loyalist: I always use the Kurita warhorn, I stick to lore-accurate Kurita mechs (BTW the last patch screwed over my favorite the combine staple JR7-D but that's another topic) I wear my faction rank as my title, etc etc etc.
I cannot be the only one who cares but even if I am I care enough for everyone. What you have done is like taking a map of a few miles of territory in Iceland and calling it "Earth" and it really wrecks my ability to enjoy (struggling to tolerate) the new map or evaluate it on its other merits. In fact, since the last patch I have lost most of my enjoyment of the entire game but I'm trying to come back into it.
I fully expect to be ignored but coming here to complain is part of the deal I'm making with myself to try and get back into this game I have loved for years now and voluntarily financially supported several times simply because its given me many hours of fun, not because I actually wanted the things I bought - I could have been 95% as happy playing without the MC and whatever. End rant.

Well, it seems that PGI has changed the naming custom of MWO maps recently.
The previous Bearclaw map also has one-word name and the map is named after the entire planet.

Consider yourself to be NOT ignored here, for there are people who can potentially accommodate and/or agree with you.
In particular note here, you will get a...

...from me because your idea is rather valid and worthwhile!
Would a suggestion such as...
"Luthien Preserve Oceanside"
...perhaps make a good name to update that Map with for atmosphere?

Maybe my mind does not fully understand what you speak of... It seems however like that naming custom has actually been around for far longer, and simply rears its' ugly head every once in a while. Take a look at Map names such as...
- Canyon Network
- River City
- Alpine Peaks
- Caustic Valley
- Tourmaline Desert
- Where is this location supposed to exist upon?
- Why does it give the impression of leaving no room for later similar-themed designs and ideas?
- Could they have thought of something less generalized?

Technically that particular Map's name is actually...
"BearClaw II"
...because it happens to be on the second planet in that star system. In other words, something like "BearClaw 2" more aptly describes this for terms of reading the name. They could perhaps update such aforementioned name to call it...
"BearClaw II Bunker"
...instead for clarity of atmosphere. Then there would also be room for more ideas based on that theme!

Thank you. I like your name suggestion, but "Luthien Atoll" is the name it inspires me to put forward (in case they want to keep it shorter). I don't communicate online much at all and its a welcome surprise to encounter kindness and understanding.
