Thanks to the PGI team for all you do to keep this old game running. It was very sad to hear about the staffing cuts; I join with the others who have posted wishing all the best to those who were let go.
I really appreciate the update and the glimpse ahead- there are still some exciting things on the horizon! For an older, free-to-play game, I think this is very encouraging.
It seems that whatever the PGI team does, there are a flock of complainers who loudly share their wishes and opinions. With a smaller team trying to do more than less I suspect this can become very discouraging. Please know that many, many of us appreciate the efforts of both the staffers and the volunteers to keep this game fresh and fun.

THANKOU PGI for putting time into this game and specifically for putting time into faction.
some points about faction from a faction player that may be of interest;
players are often drawn to faction because of the teamwork experience.
ironically this is what chases many away when they are PUG dropping, many would prefer not to be in a PUG drop against a premade, but teamwork is what makes faction survive. there are no crab rushes or linebacker waves without teamwork.
many players also log in not merely to play but because they know they will see friends.
as such faction may best not be treated as just yet another event mode but may better understood as a different type of drawcard to both quickplay and comp.
if the battles and modes meant something again then more players would have more reasons to encourage more people to play more often and more people would have incentive to log back in and keep logging in.
the scouting day was a refreshing flashback, thankyou, and i encourage you to explore the possibility of returning meaning to such endeavors as scouting by returning the system of consequences which reflect the outcome and by allowing units to put tags on planets again in order that, as mentioned previously, players may have reasons to log in beyond the accumulation of cockpit items and freebies.
this game has more to offer than collecting and grinding mechs, and the community has much to contribute.
i suggest please encourage community growth by providing incentives for units and players with no interest in the comp.
faction used to be more than just another event and it could perhaps easily be so again.

It is a pity that the release of Clans did not meet the expectations of investors. On my own, I want to say that you made a great game. I wish this game was a simulator, but then you'd sell even fewer copies.
As for the MWO, it's not very clear, you're firing a level designer who made a pretty good Luthien, and at the same time promising to work with location maps. Have you found someone better?
All the suggestions are very correct. And this should have been implemented eons ago. Especially the ability to record a fight and replay it later. For video creators, this is the holy grail.

1)Make a paid customization of the pilot in the cockpit, let people do whatever they want with them and pay you money for it
2)add demo recording
3make it possible to write in chat while searching for a match
4)add filters to the mech store: Sphere, Clan, ECM, why do people have to look through dozens of mechs to find what they are looking for
5)add a damage indicator to testing ground, like in quake champions, when you hit an enemy, damage numbers will pop up above him (optional in the settings)
6)Return maps with high water level (flooded canyon, in spring and autumn it is flooded and green, and in summer it is dry and without water)
7)Bring back the incursion, bring back the day and night cycle (can be added as an option for voting, on the map and mode selection screen)

What was the Tukayid event. I read the books and know the lore. Was it a huge battle with more than 24 mechs?
Other than that, those events were massive trainwrecks that left a number of players disappointed.

When they shut down the servers I would recommend a last huge battle, open for all, no limitations
If I remember correctly, the MWO game engine can not handle more than 24 'Mechs in two teams, i.e. as it is now.

I love the idea of classic maps coming back, even just for private lobby's. I'd like to see more maps like test map A and test map B, they're some of the best maps in the game.

The comments here already read like obituaries...
Please keep the game going. My reflexes are no longer good enough for all the fast-paced shooters! (And I have too much dignity for mobile games)

MWO is still the best Mechwarrior game imo. I'm glad you all are continuing to love it as much as we all do!
For Map Suggestions:
The biggest thing that some of them need is a fresh coat of paint/lighting etc.
Some maps still look great.. River city, Grim Plexus, Tourmaline etc..
Other maps just look dated and it's because of poor lighting placement in a lot of cases. This also would be a great opportunity to spruce them up. Another suggestion to make multiple daytime versions of them.
I mean what about River City Night? River City Stormy? Tourmaline Night. How about Runellite Night? Polar Highlands Blizzard?
Make us use the night vision and thermal imagery more!
