Is Conquest comming back to quick play in the future? I miss it already...

Next patch iirc because of the conquest event for this month. And I absolutely do not miss it because few know how to play it in quick play and it ends up a chaotic mess.

Yeah it will be back soon, and MUCH more chaotic because of the fire moth. Best way to play too cause you dont know exactly whats gonna happen.

So do I but qp conq is just a bit too random much like the old incursion mode. Players are just too casual in qp to care about anything more complicated than pressing w and shooting.

It's probably one of the best modes for light mechs, and light/medium brawlers. It's a bit easier to deal with smaller groups, than it is to deal with a 12 mech pack, which has been encountered more ofteen than not lately.

My experience being in a light mech is just punishing/Annoying on conquest

Psr will try to punish you
your own team will expect you to play the objective while they go 'pew pew'
and if you don't cap the reds will cap you out

Seems like there is a whole lot more standing around with thumbs up butts! Ok, were here, now what? Oh, wait there's a light, chase the squirrel, rest of the enemy team is about to colaps on them and in turn get shot in the back...

if you complain enough you can complain a game into non existence

(mostly thinking of the free to play Ghost recon game that got kill before it started)

Yeah that stems from the "dont do objectives and just shoot them" crap that keeps going around.

Literally anything that breaks up the Murderblob and gets 'Mechs to move around the battlefield is beneficial for the health of the game. 12v12 Blob Fights are the worst possible gameplay in all of MWO; the game is at its best when smaller numbers of 'Mechs break off and engage each other over different areas of the map and everyone who has a brain to turn on knows it. The loss of Conquest is a keenly felt blow, and while Grand Conquest is at base an awesome idea, the absolutely jank-af Event Queue rules attached to it and the weird timing of the events made it really difficult to actually play any of it.

There's a reason Comp is played exclusively on Conquest mode. It's the same reason Domination is the worst gametype in MWO and will never NOT be the worst gametype in MWO. 12v12 Blob fights suck giant donkey dongle. They're absolutely miserable, and the fact that nimdut assault 'Mech pilots keep pushing for them because that's what gives them their kiddy-safety-blanket sense of being all cuddled up and safe from the Big Scary Smol Robits drives me absolutely up the gorram wall.

I genuinely hate that the playerbase will not stop doing murder blobs and refuse to use more than 10% of any given map, and also plays the same 3 maps on repeat.

any sense of strategy is removed when it's just people running around nascar style. There's only 1 way to play the game and it sucks.

If changes where to be tested in conquest
i would ask them to remove the center capture point to see how player react but i would see issues for the heavier mechs and those that split up
also rebalance capture rates by weight class if possible (the heavier you are the faster you cap vs lighter mechs) and see how it goes

There needs to be an uneven number of capture points. Elsewise you get people capturing "their" two nearest points and then proceeding to play Blob Fight Skirmish like a bunch of yaks, and the entire point of the game mode is lost.

Absolutely not.

alright then what about the capture points powering down after x amount of time/ points gathered meaning the capture objective changes meaning a shifting of the battle

i don't really see it catering to them sure they got alot of everything but as you stated slow and cumbersome so the thinking behind this was which i didnt add which i should of
Lights can decap the fastest but can't capture/hold effectivly
Medium/Heavy are middle ground can cap/decap at some what equal speed
Assualts can Capture the fastest but decapping is slowest

So a light can take but an assualt can hold

We already have a game mode where mobility is worthless and any 'Mech lighter than 70 tons is a waste of a drop - and it is the most popularly chosen game mode in MWO to boot, because the average Puglandian has the IQ of a half-eaten sandwich and cannot fathom or tolerate any sort of fight beyond 12v12 Blob Battle. Domination is a blight on this damn game.

Fatbro Jox can deal with there being one single game mode where lighter machines that can reposition, move, and respond fluidly to changing battle conditions actually have a place.
