Is there any plans to either change or remove the Steam and in-game Solaris achievements that haven't been achieveable since the Event Queue was added to the game? Mainly for newer players. Steam achievements can be removed fairly easily, whilst the ones in the client could be simply archived for posterity.

In the announcement, it's said that the leaderboards are hidden. This is to prevent gaming them, which was a thing in old S7.
That was the reason I hated old S7 so much. Spend the whole season grinding your rank and then 100 random account pop up the last three days and watch your ranking tank.
I think they need to remove consumables from the game mode. It'll help keep the games more competitive and increase TTK.

I get hiding the leaderboard, but it would be nice if they let you see your own personal win/loss record.

It doesn't help that some of the better Solaris players were extremely toxic.
Losing and then seeing your opponent say horrible things to you... does not encourage you to play more matches.
A simple "GG" or "<O" is not only easier to type, it does not discourage participation.
I did eventually realize that using QP tuned mechs in Solaris was significantly hurting my performance, but it still left a really bad impression of the game mode after going against those toxic players.

If you can't put out enough damage to kill your opponent's weight class, without shutting down, you won't do well.
Ballistic and SRM-A builds have a significant advantage due to this.

Hmm. I never had toxic players in Solaris. I didn’t play that much because I find it boring, and I’m too lazy to strip and refit my mechs, but overall it’s still the same as it used to be. A few players ask at the beginning if I can let them win, but the rest are just normal players. They saying hi/bye
Same with the current event, I played a few matches and tried out some experiments: some wins, some losses.
If I really wanted to win, I’d have to run mechs I don’t like, with loadouts I’m not a fan of.
I did my 10 matches for the rewards and maye will do it in the other classes too, but idk.

The in game event counter keeps counting even after you've done your ten for it. I used that.

MAD-BH2 with 6x MPL and 1x SB Gauss. Range is close enough for the spread on the gauss to be meaningless but you then get the added crit boost from it. 6x MPL for stripping that armour efficiently due to the low heat and duration of IS lasers.
IS mechs definitely have the advantage in this weight bracket.
