This is coming from an old timer, who has played this genre a bit. I bought starsiege and never finished the campaign as it was boring and not very challenging. But, I was completely addicted to the multiplayer game of the open world. The go anywhere feel to it immediately grabbed me and I was finally free of corridor linear shooters. That game went the wayside and my options were this title. So, I bought this version of mecha and did not play or finish any of those campaigns for the same reasons, boring and not as challenging as human players, and therefore I only bought it, so I could do the multiplayer? If there is no campaign editor included, I do not want it?

I have to say making the DLC Ghost Bear themed was a wise decision by PGI. I've always said that PGI should make their DLCs based around different clans during Operation Revival. I like that this DLC serves as a nice little throwback to Mechwarrior 2 Ghost Bear Legacy. I do hope that we get more Clan-themed DLC because I want to see other Clans like the Wolves, Jade Falcons, Nova Cats, etc. Especially since PGI has a lot of Clan OmniMechs and BattleMechs from the MWO vault.

Actually this DLC is a wee-bit feels like some kind of a shenanigan...
It says: 4 new omnis and 4 new battlemechs. Technically only the Fire moth is "new" the rest are just dusted (not to mention Ebon jaguar is lated badly)...
Also I hope the story is a bit better thought this time (I mean Bear-like because as much as I have seen from the base game when had a chance to try it it not really fitted for the Jaguars...). Or Tukayyid would miss again? <= Another DLC for Jade Falcons or Wolves, hunh, PGI?
The elementals already a hit despite not really knows yet how would they work... If the DLC introduce some bargain system I would love to switch mechs of "my" star for elemental stars. Would be really a nice flavour!

So, yepp. Sounds cool but the "new mechs" are a bit of big talk. Also some higher difficulty? Clans were a bit easy (I know, easy is a rather dependant word).

And again: I liked MW5:Clans for that two days I had a chance to try it. I would buy the game if you fix your mistake, PGI, and release it on GOG finally!

The Night Gyr was never a ghost bear chassis.
Whoever made that particular change is Dezgra to Clan Jade Falcon.

Oh, it's still not a "Ghost Bear chassis". Master unit list just lists mechs that are in multiple units of multiple commands within a faction, so smaller quantities "don't count" towards it.

To quote the DLC page: Engage in a Trial of Possession to claim the powerful Ebon Jaguar and Night Gyr ‘Mechs

You know Mech Plants, Trial of Posessions, the spoils of war and battlefield salvage are concepts you know:

The Arctic Cheetah was made by Clan Ice Hellion, it was claimed by Clan Smoke Jaguar
The Ice Ferret was also made by Clan Ice Hellion, it was claimed by Clan Wolf
The Dire Wolf was made by Clan Wolf, it was claimed by Clan Smoke Jaguar
The Executioner was made by Clan Burrock, it was claimed by Clan Ghost Bear.

So it's easy to assume that Clan Ghost Bear claimed both the Ebon Jaguar and Night Gyr mech plants as isorla.

If you're gonna bash PGI, at least learn more about the source material.

Ok, think about the Ghost Bear DLC, I can see more Clan Themed DLC for Clan Jade Falcon and Clan Wolf. For the Wolves, you could either follow the journey of Phelan Kell with going with him to become Clan Wolf-in-Exile or stay with Vlad Ward and become a Crusader Wolf. For Clan Jade Falcon, you could experience what it's like being a part of the Falcon Guards and witness the rise and fall of Aiden Pryde. You also got good time-wise mechs from the MWO vault to add to a DLC like this.

Clan OmniMechs
Ice Ferret - Clan Wolf Design
Black Lanner - Clan Jade Falcon Design
Linebacker - Clan Wolf Design

Clan BattleMechs
Incubus
Vapor Eagle
Orion IIC
Marauder IIC

If only we had a Turkina in MWO....

I am happy to see that a DLC is being made for MW5:CLANS, even though it seemed unlikely due to the layoffs. Although I am somewhat disappointed that there will not be a continuation of the Smoke Jaguar story, a Ghost Bear story would be cool too. It seems like this is going to be a homage to MECHWARRIOR 2 Ghost Bear's Legacy, especially with the combat on the hull of a ship.

I really hope that the new story campaign will be without childish dialogues, snot and whining of children who have gone to war. Without reasoning which clans are wrong and questioning any actions of the command. In general, I am waiting for the path of the clan, and not the propaganda of the inner sphere and the selfishness of a star who thinks only of herself. It was very alienating from the atmosphere and plot of the campaign for the Smoky Jaguar, and there is no desire to return there. The main character is generally a mumbler and a rag.

Clan Warriors would be in their late teens / early 20s by the time they came out of their trials. Also, these warriors would have seen most of the kin they were raised with killed during training and may have had to kill some of them themselves as part of that training, especially in a Crusader clan like Smoke Jaguar. I do agree, though, that they probably would have had a lot of their dreamy idealism beat out of them during training and would be fully indoctrinated into the ways of the clan.
