What's faster/easier: standing in a box for maybe thirty seconds at the end of a match, or spending 8+ minutes chasing some stealth armor goober who is actively griefing in order to troll their own team?

Nobody wants to spend eight or more minutes chasing some gonk jackass who's punishing their own team for "failing them" by running around like a nitwit actively avoiding confrontation with the enemy either and yet that happens in Skirmish with frightening regularity, while the infamous and oh-so-feared 'Base Trade' in Assault is a blue-moon occurrence. I swear, every third match of Skirmish turns into a game of Dead by Daylight except it's one survivor versus however many murderers, while the win-by-cap-before-a-fight in Assault has happened to me maybe - maybe - twice in the last few months.

people really need to learn some basic hunting strategy. you dont crawl on its heels at a third of its top speed and do that for 8 minutes. no you get into his head. "if i was a light mech were would i go?" then you do a little mental math and figure out an intercept point that you can get to in time. the tail chasers provide the necessary pressure (i kind of think of them like hounds, they flush out the prey into a kill zone). if punishment never comes, they do it again and again and again ad nauseam. you are effectively giving this behavior a pass by not dealing with it.

Yet they are still supposed to being playing towards some tier level goal and their own personal score matters to them just as your score matters to you and you don't like a squirrels play style because you might have to push more buttons to go get a shot at it when it runs away?
Yet that is the squirrels strategy? That is what they do?
So maybe you all sound like Elmer Fudd and Wile E Coyote and everything is a wascal and a bad acme reject idea?
So,
I am sick of
"looney tune arguments."

generally i need them to do what they would do anyway. any mass more than 2 players can anchor the rest to one bad position and its natural for that blob to go to the target. depending on the condition of my mech i can usually take a light in single combat, especially the kind that tend to run away at the end of the match. the more aggressive ones only run away for position and frequently move back into attack position, and usually end up with multiple kills for their efforts (those are the games i stick around for). when conventional tactics fail, use guerilla tactics. but a player that runs never returns to an attack position, and will throw away an advantage like an open ct or a legged mech. you can tell the difference.
if im not in a position to engage i usually do a text call out, which is better than nothing. ultimately its less about coordination, and more about one or two players exiting herd mentality to come up with an unpredictable move.

id rather discuss tactics than complain about it and then do nothing about it. sure i agree that squirrel is in every right to find a way to improve the match outcome for themselves and their team. sometimes im the squirrel. but hell if im going to sit with my thumb up my butt until the clock times out. im not going to call out for the destruction of an entire game mode over it either.
