This mech is a waste of space. Quirks aside, the hard point limitations make not purchasing this a no-brainer.

I'm right there with you. The Mad Dog Sigma is one of those mechs you would rather get for MC (through events) rather than real money. I could only see myself getting it if I want to get the Torso Omnipods for the Jumpets for my other Mad Dogs.

I am on the fence about this MECH. I love Mad Dogs, but I hate the hard mounted jump jets and lack of weapon hardpoints, this MECH will not have enough firepower to be an asset to any team. If the CLAN weapons in MWO were not "balanced" like they are, then maybe the MECH would be viable, as well as other CLAN MECHS that do not have a lot of weapon hardpoints (that was the point of those configurations, that the power of the individual weapons was great enough they could only carry two or three weapons and still be viable).

Also, I would love to read a backstory for this MECH and why a decal of Jayden comes with it.
Spoiler

I like the laser duration quirk a lot. Its a legitimately new mechanic and you can just dump all the heavy laser damage in an instant. The last few legendary mechs haven't been that cool and at least this is something kind of new and interesting.

unlike the Gargoyle which has enough space adn weapons to be viable the sigma is really hard to get good weapons into the best i found so far is a large puse and er large laser, but you have to dump the targeting computer for that.

Just maybe if the arms had a couple energy points loaded with small pulse or medium lasers it'd be good. since the quirk only applies to large lasers.

I hope that someone that can do something is able to see this.

To whomever that may be,

Please do something with this mech. This mech *could be* a LOT of fun. And that's what it feels like. That it could be fun.

But it's not.

Suggestions:

Move the mounts to the top of the torsos.

A small cooldown quirk? The tempo feels off and that is frustrating to play. I'm not really sure how to better expand on that; maybe others can help me elaborate.

Split the duration cooldown between the CT and STs with the vast majority of it being on the CT. I think this will have the best opportunity to allow this mech to become truly fun to build and play.

Thank you,
ColdBrewed

I bought the Sigma, but the Laser quirks are indeed set of 8, so there is no better option than two Heavy Large Lasers. With a few tweaks and skills the Mech is decent, the only problem is the cooldown on the lasers, which means that you will be trying to dodge fire more often than shooting.

Such a shame, that it doesn't have a proper Chin Turret hardpoint... :(

The SIGMA is a fun MECH, it is like a pistol dueling MECH, you get one quick, accurate shot and then you have to reload.

PGI, before you are going to nerf the Duration quirk. Just add +100% Heat or +100% cooldown or just both to keep the quirk power balanced.

This mech can be salvaged. Give it -10% heat and +100% range. It will be similar to a hag20 build.

If the quirks get nerfed, then I hope they allow refunds on this MECH, because it would be pretty useless. I guess you could make it into a big Stormcrow with jump jets, but that is about it.

Read this, please:

Q: What guarantees can be made about the balance of these Mechs?
Only that we will try to provide as fair an experience for all players, Clans and Inner Sphere alike. This may mean "nerfing" or "buffing" some weapons or adding Quirks to the 'Mechs at a later date.

Q: Am I able to get a refund for my 'Mech Pack if necessary?
Refunds are granted without issue in cases where none of the 'Mech Pack content has yet been delivered. If your 'Mech Pack content has been partially or fully delivered prior to the refund request, particularly in cases where some or all of that content has been consumed or used since its delivery, refund eligibility is not guaranteed and must first be evaluated and approved by Support services.

As far as I know, a change or an adjustment of 'Mech's quirks is not a valid reason for refund, especially if such 'Mech has been used for some time.

True, but the whole point of the mech is to be able to fire two Heavy Large Lasers fast and you give up a lot of firepower to do that. Without those quirks almost any Mad Dog is better than the Sigma (yes you can make ok builds by using the torsos on other Mad Dogs, so I probably would not actually demand a refund).

Higher hardpoints would be amazing, its suffering like the other Mad Dog hero with torso ballistic hardpoints.
I really want to like it, the Mad Dog is my favorite mech but I find it very hard to play with those particular hardpoints.

Be able to aim at lights and remove 1/12 players from the enemy team in 2-3 alpha hits with little they can do about it.

You're saying the best performing heavy mech, the Bandit, is suffering?Posted Image It's been nuts ever since they buffed it in November.

I dont see it getting nerfed. It's not good right now imo. Some cooldown or JJ boost quirks would be nice. It's fun to play but getting good scores is hard.
