Been a long time since i posted here, but i think this is a reference to a Black Thorns merc novel, one of the main protagonists fly's what is essentially Btechs equivalent of the A-10.

The MechBuster is way more YOLO in concept than an A-10, even

It is somewhat unsubtle about being a Kuritan design despite not being festooned with the usual Feudal Japan aesthetic
