Yo! There have been a few events this year and last, maybe a few more than in years past idk. That's super awesome since the game is probably aging out anyway (I wish it wouldn't, idk, if you guys keep playing and it doesn't get taken down I will)

For any newbies don't miss out!!!!

The BLR-1G preys upon its targets whilst neck-deep in Canyon Network's rolling slopes, its 6 ER Large Lasers relentlessly chipping away at the hapless rotato. Armor sharing is not part of the equation. Very engaging gameplay, the best of the three for sure.

Artists, feel free to draw this.

how i look at the free mechs at first glance.

Kodiak-Spriit Bear- Clanner mech so likely will never use but gonna keep it just in-case

Battlemaster-1G- already have one so likely will just sell it. (i think mine is still running an experimental build with 2 BLCs and 3 ER MLs)

Bullshark-3- starts with LRM (i like LRM) but without velocity quirks makes a lack lust LRM boat. might see what i can do with MRMs though

The BSK-3's +missile HSL is such an awkward quirk to have.
LRMs? You can go 3LRM15+3LRM5s I guess, or 3LRM20, though I'd just stick with 2LRM15+4LRM5 to afford 6ERML+TAG instead on the energy which can actually threaten stuff.
MRMs? 2MRM40, and then for the rest of the 4 missile hardpoints you can use 4MRM10s or LRM5s? And then you can stick in ERSLs instead on the energy. And then you'd still have to deal with the MRM40s' long burst duration and low velocity of MRMs, oh and heat.

SRMs? Go play the MAD-4HP.
Anyway, really wish it would just ditch the +HSL for an array of regular quirks/stronger quirks instead. Likewise with the HGN-IIC.

I'm not sure why you are so scared of triggering ghost heat for 4 LRM15/4 TBolt 3 which is partly why I'm pretty sure why it has the HSL. 4 MRM30s are in a similar boat where the ghost heat thanks to the HSL should be fairly reduced.

Yeah it's soft-ghostheat rather than true-ghostheat sure.
But it's still annoyingly more heat that kills sustain even if it doesn't overheat you immediately like your average energy ghostheat triggers.

I had run the 4 TBolt 3 build for giggles and did not find the heat that problematic (in fact I was surprised at how effective it is for a lock-on mech), though I haven't run it for a minute. It's not as good as the BSK-2/6 but that's a very high bar.

The MRM120 BSK-3 is a riot

"oh look there's another nice fat juicy Assault who's not paying attention to me... *120 points of BAAAARRRRRRRRFFFFF*"

i ended up doing this with my BSK-3

BSK-3 (2 MRM-40 (5t ammo), 5 MLs, running an LE-325 with 9 DHS)

Aii020_1|i^|i^|i^|[g|Y?|Y?p71|[@|Y?q71|[@|Y?|GPr01|i^|i^|i^s01|i^|i^|i^t31|GP|GPu31|GP|GPvB0|Y?w909090

i tried a few other combos for the MRMs but everything i wanted to try still triggered the ghost heat limit. (started with the idea of 6 10s, then 2 20s and 4 10s.) just gonna have ta deal with the long burst. haven't run it in any matches yet but it is what it is.

with LRMs you sadly need a pretty hefty velocity bons to make them viable these days (something like a total bonus of 45%). i like Tbolts but i already have a really good Tbolt mech in my Wolf Phoenix. most of my other assault mechs that field MRMs use a pair of 30s with some energy back up or a mix of MRMs and AC/LBx-10s (or a pair of L-AC/10s if i have the slots)
