Just like any real training we need area to master our skills and ability to work alone, small unit, medium, and large scopes of action.

Therefore, is there any consideration for a merc and/or house unit purchase program add on so we can learn to fight together without being in "live operational theaters"?

Recon lance, assault lance and combined etc training within the unit would be a fantastic ability IMO.

I agree, to a point at least it would be nice to have a test drive area (optional) to try out your mech and configuration before you take it into a battle ground and frustrate everyone because, for example, you have a large variety of ballistic weapons and a small variety of ballistic ammo.

Totally agree, would also help for new comers and viewing potential pilots for projective situations

I was going to make a thread about this. They should definitely incorporate this. I hope this topic gets more attention.

Yeah i think having a training ground map where you can que solo or as a group and "fight" buildings would be perfect, especially if you wanted to get the feel for a new mech or loadout.

I hope the devs see this (if it were not already on their to do list) It is very important.

OP, why not post this in the suggestion forum?

edit: nevermind, there is already one

THIS is a good idea. While I have played much MW3 & 4 and Mercs I get the feeling this will be different. Especially with money on the line where every dent, scratch and arm actuator is gonna cost CBills to repair.

Having a practice course to "Try out" a mech and get a feel for its handling, weapon load outs, heat management and recharge times is a great idea. I wouldn't even care if they allowed other players into a shared area. A timed trial with scores could be cool also

I have been looking for this from day one. Having a training area would allow new players an area to learn the basic controls and concepts. (Weapon Groupings for example) At this point I think it could be a compleately solo area.... Allow you to learn the map?

In the Mechwarrior Books there were both Mech Training Simulators and training grounds. (Think they called it running the gauntlet) For now I would run it as a simulator, that way no ammo is lost or damage is taken when testing out new equipment.

As teamwork within a lance or company is paramont to victory, a treaining area is imperitive, especially for groups that want to functionn as an enduring unit!!!!

Has there been any further updates on whether there will be a training area.

Not sure I want to go out in a new shiny mech only to be blasted by vets (reminiscent of EVE griefers!). Would like the opportunity to be able to control the beast, get used to the controls and changes as I am stilling playing MW4:mercs pc game with old settings.

Thanks

K

Definitely. It would give us a chance to get all the bugs worked out. I can't get out of Alpha strike mode in game cause it takes to long to do when the clock is ticking.
