In the end, it was definitely worth to kill the game with *** game balance just to please those 5/10 players who are ****, can't aim, but want to feel "elite", so they went like "why don't we just remove over 600mt play from the game?"
Since we are here, you could also add some trans-pride oriented crap with bunny ears, slap a 50% quirk on that **** just because why not and charge 20 bucks just to get mechs with more quirks.
In the end
1) reward people for being ****, rather than reward for being good
2) kill diversity while claiming to enhance it.
3) force a gameplay that never belonged in any mechwarrior game and that nobody wanted (in fact, we all quit)
4) add pay to win trash
For sure it's gonna work dudes, way to go, hurray Cauldron, surely the low player count is due to age, it's not like even older stuff like age of empires 2 or minecraft thrive like never before just thanks to good game balance

The matchmaking is atrocious, good players often drop in groups and since we only have one queue the experience for solo players gets worse. These people then quit. It's a cycle of self-destruction that has been going on for way too long.
Reminds me of the old Lineage 2 times. where one clan/alliance pushed to dominate the server. Once they did, everyone quit and moved on to the next freeshard. Dominance established - on a deserted, empty server. And the cycle repeats.

Also, weapons such as Beam laser or X-Pulse lasers (especially Large X-Pulse laser) benefitted assault-class 'Mechs, since those new weapons literally allowed them to keep the laser beam on fast light 'Mechs.

Nobody is holding you here.
So please stop spamming the forums of the game that you do not play. That is really pathetic.
Also, stop insulting people who still enjoy MWO, just because you do not. That is even more pathetic.

Spectre was painful without sinking 50 gsp into it from get-go. It's still a very weird mech and I'm sure high skill players can do work with it but it is VERY challenging to work with. It was cheap and it looks pretty cool though.

you might eventually see a reduction in services such as shutting down servers or reduction of game size below 12v12 to stay in the green. we have already seen the cost of mech packs go up. but that will have a cascade effect as some people dont want that and will leave as a result. wait times are ultimately going to be what kills the game (which was my primary reason for quitting fp).
drastic changes are probibly not coming. things like converting over to private servers or allowing respawn so the match can go on and reduce time spent waiting. i dont think that change is easy or cheap. the game will run until the population gets low and people stop buying things because they see the writing on the wall and the game will sunest. you might see an mwll resurgence or mw5 pvp mods get more use. enjoy the game while its still in the green.

vr is nice in single player like the vr warrior mod for mw5. but i think it would reduce my pvp performance. my performance improved in mwo when i stopped using track-ir (though that was a poor implementation that caused all kinds of hud alignment issues where i had to constantly recenter or my sights would be off).
though i dont think it will bring back players. vr seems to have been a passing fad again and is about as niche as mwo is.

Not only that, but there's not really anything "to do". Games die, and this one has had a life. All we can hope is that something else will come along and fill the gap left by it.

2. Community wide effort in producing "HOW TO PLAY MWO" videos. Need to put more emphasis on the teamwork aspect. Stressing importance of patient ranged gameplay vs useless duelist brawling builds only contributing a target to the enemy for 90% of the match. Guides on how to poke-tart, pop-tart or how to master handling your mechs. Almost like your rebanding the game to focus on "Game is simple to play, hard to master. A Hero-less Hero-shooter requiring the teamwork of a Hero-shooter."
3. Off-season league for up and coming compies? (doubtful) Weekend-tournaments? Need stuff above and beyond quick-play to drive engagement.

How do you make a tutorial for people who run away from the fight and don't understand that's their death sentence? Besides, there are many good tutorials on Youtube already.
MW5 AI performs better than 90% of the players you meet in QP. It's hopeless.

MWO does not have to die. Their is older games that been fixed, adjusted to today computers. Stupid enough, people still play countrer-strike. Like wtf? Look at DCS, way older than MWO and look at it today. Kicking &#$* in so many ways.

This can be solved with more indoor maps and a bit more armour values on anything 100t.
We already have plenty of maps like this, I cant believe they are not in QP, just make the Solaris maps QP 8v8 drops.

I think some simple changes to how vivid the game looks from the devs side would be welcome. Increasing contrast, gamma, reducing particles etc.

to be fair if those jarls projections were to be believed, id have quit the game 2 years ago. but watching entropy happen is kind of disconcerting, even if you cant quite accurately pin down the rate.

Naive question from someone playing the game in low settings: are there really people playing MWO for how good or not it looks?
