Thoughts on the four new 2025TSP MECHs.

・UM-IIC-M(TSP)
This is definitely OP. (Japanese people love the expression OP.)
Even if you remove all the armor, the whole body is only 30 armor. With skill it's 37!
The maximum front armor is CT87, L/RT&Legs71, and arms 62.
There is also a B12 E2 hard point. The only restriction to make this possible is the maximum engine size of 90 (maximum speed 48kph).

Since it doesn't have JJ or ECM, it has a big handicap in terms of mobility...
But it has the power and toughness to make that an issue. If you want to put it in the pocket of an assault or heavy, there's no better gun than this one, right?
The next patch will get Full Body below 20. I'd bet Kakyoin's and Abdul's souls that it will be below that.

・BKL-M(TSP)
In my opinion... this is a Noble who has lost JJ but now has more freedom in his builds.

At first I didn't know what was different, but MASC was changed to SC, and it was solid instead of OMNI.
The engine can be changed between 330 and 385. To be honest... it's a pretty good medium mech.

・SMN-P(TSP)

In my opinion... this is CRAEL. It has JJ so it has better mobility.
It's not bad to use. But the lethal weapons are concentrated on both arms, that's the bad point.
It's a pretty good MECH.

・GAR-M(TSP)

I've been waiting for this! It's finally time to overcome the weakness of flat feet.
In the August patch, iJJ will be split into 2-2 on the side torso, but I hope they keep the part that combines 4 in one place.
I wondered what would change just by adding iJJ, but it really is much easier to fight.
We were also able to achieve 19 energy hardpoints, but unfortunately weapons were limited to 16...

Now, here comes the complaints.
・UM-IIC-M
The number of hardpoints and full body armor are clearly excessive.
It feels like they're trying to balance it out by limiting the size of the engine, but once you're in position it doesn't matter.
The 360-degree rotating torso is also a surprisingly powerful feature.
APG, LMG, HMG... There's a wide variety of builds which is interesting, but it also seems like it would be extremely unpleasant to face off against.

・About this whole mech pack
Where are the missiles? Where are the missiles? Where are the missiles?

That's all I have to say. I'm happy that my 3 favorite mechs (UM, SMN, GAR) are coming with great skins and stats.

Why are you even calling the Urbie OP? Maybe on light only 1v1 arena events where being a light with as much hitpoints as a medium/heavy is a real advantage, and the slowness doesn't matter much since the maps are small. Then yeah, it has a good shot at screwing over APG Warthogs or SRM24 KFXs. But on QP? It's as slow as an assault with nowhere the firepower of one, and it takes up 1 player slot from the team all the same.

The Summoner doesn't have the missile hardpoints (or access to MRMs even if it does) that makes the Crael dangerous on top of its HMGs either, at most it has HMLs sure. And being ridiculously durable for its speed.

The BKL is eh, really boring, decently boring.

The iJJ Gargoyle is just boring high hardpoint count boat too, probably will just be used as HLL+C-ERML boat mixpod build and the iJJ pods gets left in the dust as deadweight.

I don't know if the opinions of Tier 5 players will be of any help...
I think Urbie has the advantage in the first minute of the game, where slowness is most of the time an issue.
With its incredible armor and a huge number of weapons, it'll have no problem taking on Light Mechs.
It'll be easy to push them away and get to the front line with your allies.
Once you have joined up with your allies, being slow will generally not be an issue.(It depends on the team's plan.)
I thought that SMN-P (TSP) was very strong in the way he mixed close combat and spam, making the most of his high mobility. CRAEL doesn't have vertical mobility, so he can move more flexibly.
The BKL-M is... well, it's a matter of preference. It was perfect for me because I like to run around and shoot from different angles.
The excitement of Gargoyle is...to be honest it's hard to share. I can access positions I never could before. It's the best.

Can MWO/Cauldron do to the JJ of GAR-M(TSP) similar to what they did to Sovereign EXE-B-C(LGD)?

1st patch version of Sovereign had 4xJJ. I was one of those suggesting 2xJJ instead. They listened!
2nd patch version of EXE-B-C(LGD) had 2xJJ (one on each leg), and added JJ quirks to compensate to some degree.

==>For the 2nd version GAR-M(TSP), can it have 2x iJJ all on LT, and perhaps with JJ quirks locked into LT also? ;)

Oh wow okay, I totally forgot about mixpods.
https://mwo.nav-alph...6a86b2_SMN-PTSP
What a massive powercreep (and dare I say P2W due to its realbucks only exclusivity at the moment) over the SRM Crael.

You can't even say the Crael has better agility when the Summoner is already one of the more agile heavies, already more than the Crusader even.
So where's the Crael heat quirk (and +top speed, along with agility) buffs anyway? Seeing as whoever made this Summoner seems fine with that much DPS on that much speed (with JJs even) with that much agility and durability.
I guess you can still say Crael has its hitpoints in armor instead of structure so you don't have to worry about getting critted. Also MRMs.

Another option would be having the Summoner's (all of them because the only thing non SMN-P loses when trying to run this build is 1extra ballistic hardpoint on CT) +20 FB Structure to be tied to So8 I guess, that would limit the SMN-P to beam laser+LMGs or APG+3LPPC builds since without that +20FB, it's kind of meh.
That or the SMN-G's STs could get some of those negative quirks that are only negated on its (SMN-G's) So8 since they've always been preety cheesy (3 missile hardpoints on each ST) with little downside for mixpod builds.

It's a guaranteed win ticket for arena 1v1 events, toppling the Warthog and SRM KFX for the spot outside of on some matchups on some maps.

How many times do we have to do this?

They're gonna sell these as such. 6 months later, the nerf will come.

Yeah well in this case it's kind of hard to nerf cause you know. Its strength is in hardpoint count, not weapon quirks, and the only real quirk it has is the +20FB Structure that has been pretty much treated as a chassis quirk for the Summoner, and there hasn't really been a precedent in changing hardpoint count since whenever unless that's going to change.
Other Summoners are fine with it because most of them has low hardpoint count that necessitates using less weight-to-damage efficient weapons like AC/LB/UACs or large laser/C-ERPPC, except for the SMN-G with its 3missile STs which when paired with the SMN-P arms' hardpoint count, lets it have as absurd amount of DPS, and mobility, while also still enjoying the +20FBStructure (and cXL that the Crael obviously doesn't get) since it's a CT quirk rather than So8 or anything.
All of that with the precedent of the Crael already existing with a similiar build, and performing well (when played correctly) on its own already and they came up with a +1 or even +2 version of it.

Oh and the best part is that these TSP mechs are "designed by a commitee of experienced players" believe it or not, shows how much they care about balance you ask me. Or rather, how much they know how to sneak in something that's broken/even better than already existing stuff that is already strong.

I think the gargoyle needs some energy weapon quirks like Mirco laser family range +15% heat -5%

I agree. I mainly noticed issues with engagement range and heat while earning XP with QP.

I also feel that the toughness is relatively low. I was concerned that while iJJ made a big improvement to mobility, they didn't address the other issues at all.

yeah i'm trying to get my er micros to at least IS small laser range the most i've got is 195meters so just 5 meters short problem is heat. and because mine isn't a full set of 8 i lost the jj quirks. really need an incentive to keep parts of it together i swapped the arm for more er micros. and because the side torso i added has 10 range.

https://mwo.nav-alph...624ccb_GAR-MTSP

Most of the other gargoyles like the prime have insane quirks due to how low the weapon count is.... like the D has insane laser duration quirks and the prime insane ballstic and missiel quirks. an actual incentive to keep the set of 8 while this one has 0 reason to keep it together and instead use it as parts for another or use other parts on it.

I would definitely push for a Micro laser family range quirk on this mech. and energy heat ,possibly some light/plasma ppc (don't blame me that's what it's called on the jenner iic-3) quirks for heat or cooldown i dunno.

I think it might as well be +100% range for the UL family, like with the Charger.
iJJ split will be coming in August.
Along with that, I'd like to see the JJ Quirks rearranged and strengths unique to this mech added.
